Dear Students and Parents,

Garces Memorial High School is pleased to offer Summer School with a series of academic and athletic classes and camps for students entering grades five through twelve in the academic year 2020 - 2021. This is our 25th year of op-eration. It is our goal to make summer vacation both enriching and enjoyable for our students. This catalog introduces you to our programs and provides you with the information you will need to register. You can also download our summer school registration form at our school website, www.garces.org.

High school students interested in taking a class for credit or preparing for the challenging year ahead will find our High School Curriculum a perfect fit. In addition to our traditional summer school classes in nearly all academic disciplines, we offer college planning courses like Math SAT Prep, Verbal SAT Prep, and College Essay Workshop. Ten unit aca-demic courses are open to high school students from any school as long as permission is given from the public school.

Whether middle school students are interested in expanding their writing, math, science skills or devel-oping their artistic or musical talents, our middle school classes and camps are a perfect fit. Our middle school programs are open to students entering fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades next year. Stu-dents can come for two weeks or stay for the entire month. Each two-week long session makes it pos-sible for students to explore new interests and make friends while experiencing a high school campus. Students can join our new STEM Camp, Fine Arts Camp, Sports Camp, Aquatics Camp or take a variety of academic and enrichment classes. Our Sports and Aquatic Camps provide group instruction in tennis, swimming, diving, water polo, bas-ketball, and volleyball. The camps are staffed by Garces and non-Garces faculty, coaches and gradu-ates and the focus is on fun. The camps are dedicated to teaching teamwork, sportsmanship and posi-tive self-esteem.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We hope to see you this summer!
