Daily Offering

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings

of this day for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins,

the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy

Father this month. Amen.

Communion Prayer

With spiritual communion, Jesus will give us the graces that we need this moment to be faithful to our mission of being witnesses of the Love of God before

all men. Let us pray…..

My Jesus,

I believe that You are present in the Most Blessed Sacrament.

I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

Upcoming DDF Collection

Next Weekend, we will be conducting our Diocesan Development Fund Campaign. I know some of you are suffering financially and may not be able to contribute this year. However, if you are able to contribute, we ask that you consider a pledge. If those parishioners who are able to contribute would give a little more, it could make up for those fellow parishioners who are not able to donate this year.

All of our registered households should have received a DDF mailing by now. If you have not received the mailing, please call Tammy Stander at 417-866-0841. She will mail you the information. Please review the materials. We are stressing participation. We need for all of us to work together, especially this year. Every gift helps. Please prayerfully consider assisting the diocese in funding the many ministries it provides for our parish and the other 85 parishes and missions in southern Missouri.

For more information visit the link for the Diocese webpage accessible on the Sacred heart website and view the DDF video this week.

Virtual Praise and Worship Prayer Group It is so easy to forget to turn to Our Lord in praise and thanksgiving for all His many blessings. Praise and thanksgiving and growing deeper in our faith is our main focus! We begin our time with a rosary, praise and worship, song, and an inspired teaching, followed by time going deeper in the Holy Spirit. Musicians Andrew and Jan Peters lead our music team. Join us each Thursday at 7 p.m. by Zoom and grow deeper in love with our Holy Catholic faith.

Call Shelly 417-838-2730 with questions and for Zoom invitation information.

Spotlight on…St. Mary’s Early Childhood Program St. Mary’s Early Childhood students had a wonderful school year! Our new Early Learners class for entering two-year old children has been a beautiful addition to our school. Mrs. Teresa Scheuerman brings her love for children and experience as a Parents as Teachers educator to her students, and her students have thrived as a result. The Early Learners class has a curriculum designed specifically for this age group to help children develop the love of learning as well as develop social, emotional, spiritual, and academic skills. Early Learners is expanding for the 2020-2021 school year to offer both a half-day and a full-day option for children, either two, three, or five days a week. Mrs. Pam Black continues to teach the love of learning and develop joy for reading in her Preschool classroom for entering three-year old children. Preschool students are always busy with classroom lessons and activities that continue to build and strengthen fine and gross motor skills, alphabet, number, and color recognition, and the important social skills of sharing and taking turns. As with all Early Childhood classes, thematic units change weekly and seasonally and focus on curricular objectives through play-based learning and fun! Preschool offers a half-day and full-day experience for children three or five days a week.

Mrs. Carrie Cavitt may have joined the St. Mary’s faculty this past year, but she has over 30 years of experience as an Early Childhood teacher and director that she puts to use each day in her Pre-Kindergarten classroom. Pre-K students take what they have learned in Early Learners and Preschool and build upon it in depth and complexity…building each student’s skills in preparation for entering Kindergarten the following year. Along with curricular standards, Miss Carrie models and reinforces the love of God, the love of Country, and the love for others to her students through classroom lessons, guest speakers, and activities. Pre-Kindergarten offers a half-day or full-day experience for four-year old children five days a week.

Early Childhood students enjoy going to Mass, going to Music with Ms. Crabtree, and Spanish with Miss Teresa each week. In addition, basic conversational sign language is also taught in all Early Childhood classes to enrich and engage our youngest learners. Bible stories and songs, prayers, and Catholic values are taught alongside each classroom skill which allows our faculty to teach the whole child…heart, mind, body, and soul. Students are immersed in play-based learning that is developed so each child may make the most of his or her special gifts and talents. Throughout their day, students are learning through hands-on lessons and activities, song and movement, and fun! More information about St. Mary’s Early Childhood or Elementary classes and/or to schedule a tour, please contact Joanne Lown, St. Mary’s Principal, at (417) 623-1465.
