Upgrading Information: Repository

If you are upgrading from an InsightUnlimited™ version prior to v9.0.0, you will need to upgrade to the latest v8.1.11 upgrade build prior to upgrading to this current release. If you are upgrading from any version of InsightUnlimited, please note that version 2013.1 requires a new license key. You will need to obtain a new License Key from Customer Support. Once this is received, please perform a replace in order to retain your License Assignments. For more information on upgrading, please refer to the v9 upgrade document or contact Customer Support. Prior to upgrading, please make sure your Insight Object Repository is backed up (using your current InsightUnlimited Administrator Application). This backup is essential for all types of installs, whether you are installing this version in parallel with an existing previous version or, alternatively, as a new stand alone installation. Any upgrade to 2013.1 requires a new repository to be created. InsightUnlimited 2013.1 requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0. Therefore if upgrading from V9.0.x or higher you will need to backup your current production repository and then restore into a new repository created in 2013.1. Upgrading Information: Budgeting

For clients with budgeting repositories, it is required to take a backup of the budgeting library/database/schema prior to upgrading. All upgrades, if running in parallel with your existing InsightUnlimited version requires a new budgeting database to be created. InsightUnlimited announces our new Real Estate Management module. You want better information to manage properties more efficiently and streamline your interactions with tenants, managers, lenders and owners. InsightUnlimited Real Estate Management integrates your real estate operation so that you are more involved with managing investments rather than managing Excel spreadsheets or your data warehouse.

Real Estate Management (REM) Area Integrity: Area Integrity that reports the square footage variances between the Property, Floors and Units. Billing History: The Billing History template provides access to the billing history transactions. Additionally the template includes access to the lease header and detail tables. Critical Date – Logs: The Critical Date template returns logs for Leases, Properties, Floors and Units that have a critical date within a date range. Floor Master: Template provides access to the floor master (F1506) including the floor area master (F1514) and property logs (F1521). Lease Expiration: The Lease Expiration displays leases that are going to expire based on an As of Date Range. Additionally, the report ages the Annual Rent amount that will expire. Lease Master: The Lease Master template provides an overview of a lease. The template includes tenant information and the setup of recurring billings, extraordinary billings, security deposits, logs and legal clauses. Legal Clauses (E1 Only): The Legal Clause template displays the legal clause information associated to leases and tenants. The template displays the beginning, ending, critical and notification dates associated to options and space details. Logs (E1 Only): The Logs template returns logs for Leases, Properties, Floors and Units. Occupancy Vacancy Listing: The Occupancy Vacancy Listing reports the occupied and vacant units of a property based on an as of date. The report includes property occupancy and vacancy rates. Property Master: Template provides access to the property master (F0006) including the property area master (F1514) and property logs (F1521). Rent Roll: Provides a schedule of rent amounts for properties based on an as of date. Includes information for the units, leases and tenants. Security Deposits: The Security Deposits template displays deposit information associated to a lease, including the deposit type, critical date, applied status and deposit amount. Also, the template displays the deposit received amount, applied amount and open.

Unit Master: Template provides access to the unit master (F1507) including the unit area master (F1514) and unit logs (F1521).

General Ledger (GL)

*Budget Comparison: Template provides access to the Budget table (ISBudgetData3) and the Transactions table (F0911).

Featured Enhancements

Budgeting Line-Item Budgeting: This enhancement enables end users to define budget details that

are loaded into the InsightUnlimited budgeting environment by inserting rows of information and amounts that automatically roll up into summary line items that can be uploaded into to JDE automatically.

Summary Budgeting: This is the opposite of line-item budgeting; this enhancement enables budgeting in summary (e.g. by Company, or Object Account or by Business Unit. Even included in this enhancement is the ability to budget by category codes.)

Strategic Planning: This functionality enables end users to design a budget input form using any table in JDE incorporated with user-defined data collection columns that hold key driver information for robust modeling. InsightUnlimited Budgeting can be leveraged for any planning requirement. Specifically, for companies that utilize JDE Payroll, InsightUnlimited will have an out of the box solution that can be used to forecast proper salary expenses by employee. Other examples include Capital Expenditure/Depreciation forecasting and planning by sales item. InsightUnlimited is truly unlimited planning; since InsightUnlimited is completely customizable, there is virtually no budget input form that can’t be designed to meet any Company’s unique requirements. There is no solution on the market that can integrate with any JDE environment and enable complete custom budget functionality integrated with reporting. Requires a new license (DXE) for DX Data Enty.

Continuous Budgeting: InsightUnlimited now enables users to design forms that are meant to be utilized monthly for updating future outlooks and revisions to existing plans. This functionality is only available with InsightUnlimited because it leverages InsightUnlimited Reporting’s Time Series functionality which is not available in any other tool.

Automatic uploading to JDE World: This uses InsightUnlimited’s unique World Upload Utility program. (Available on request for JDE World customers).

Comment Columns The ability to add Comment Columns to reports has been added for Reporting users or

groups if allowed in Advanced Capabilities.

The ability to enter and edit Comments to reports has been added for all users or groups (if allowed in report permissions).

Users have the ability to select which columns on the report are associated to a Comment Column.

When selecting columns to be associated to a comment, you can include dimensions which are pivoted but have a single filter selection.

Executive Grade Reporting A Reporting user can define the formatting for column headers on the report.

A Reporting user with Configurator can publish column header formats to RIO so that other users can subscribe to them in their reports.

Users can export a report using Microsoft Word 2007 or above using customized Style Sheets that can contain any of the following to create a polished Executive Grade Report: 1. Logos – placed anywhere on document 2. Headers and footers 3. Footnotes 4. Watermarks 5. Free form text

Report grid data exported into Microsoft Word is embedded into a table and protected for data integrity purposes.

Default Style Sheet can be defined for reports exported to Microsoft Word.

A sample Style Sheet is automatically included under Documents folder for users to customize as needed.

Paper size and orientation are included in the Word Options dialog and can be defined during Export to Word.

Report Bursting A printing option was added to configure a page/file break in the report which results in a

separate file for: 1. Each chosen filter selection when exported to PDF, Excel or Word. 2. Any sorted column regardless of its filter selection and subtotaling.

Once a file break has been configured on a sorted column, you can include the codes for that column in the output filenames.

Other Budgeting Enhancements Users can specify a default model and the worksheet within that model, which is to be

applied when contributors want to apply a mode so that they do not need to choose one.

Budgeting contributors can create a model and apply it to a form that contains a hierarchy made up of any dimensions. Apply model works with hierarchies and source tracking is appropriately marked for each cell.

Users can design a budgeting model which works with a form that contains a Time Series.

Users can create and apply a model for a budget input form which includes Line Item Detail.

Users can submit budget amounts automatically after applying a model when selecting the 'Apply and Finish' button in the Enter Budget ribbon.

Users are prevented from selecting an inquiry for a budgeting form if it’s already selected for another budgeting form. A message is displayed on both the Forms dialog and Edit Cycle dialog.

A Budgeting Administrator now has the ability to sort Ledgers and Forms by their columns in the Budget Setup dialog.

A Budget Administrator can see the total number of rows returned in the Query Budget Data and Upload Preview dialogs.

The Budgeting Controller is warned if some submitted rows are not uploadable when attempting to upload budget amounts.

The Query Budget data shows all the entries for the Line Item Detail column and the total for all the valid as well as invalid budget entries.

A Budgeting Contributor, when in budget submission mode, has the options of Finish (save budget data and exit budget entry mode), Save (save budget data and stay in budget entry mode) and Cancel (cancel and exit budget entry mode).

The Audit Log window is no longer automatically displayed after applying a model but can be reviewed as needed by selecting the Audit Log icon in the Enter Budget ribbon.

Budget scope can be applied to budget rows which have no company, and/or business unit, and/or object account, and/or subsidiary.

Models can be applied to a budget form which has no company, and/or business unit, and/or object account, and/or subsidiary.

A contributor’s comments can be entered when in budget submission mode, even if the user does not have commenting permission for the form.

When configuring DX Data Entry (DXE) in the Profile Wizard, InsightUnlimited creates a standard Payroll Budgeting table ISBPAYROLL in the Budgeting repository so long as Budgeting, Designer Express and Designer Express Developer licenses also exist.

The Open Form window now displays Activity names to aid in Cycle selection.

Budgeting Administrators can upload and download Excel models without having to first open a budget form.

An Excel model can be created from a Designer Express budgeting input form. The Excel model is exported and saved just like it appears in Insight.

The Budgeting Contributor can apply a model to a form such that it first pushes data into the model from another budgeting Designer Express form.

When applying a model to a Designer Express budget input form, non-key label columns in the model are now updated, not just amounts.

If the model has "DoNotSave" in cell A1, the model isn't saved after applying to a budget form.

If the model has “PushDescopedValues” in cell A1, then budget amounts from Insight are pushed to the model.

General Enhancements Address Book Data Security E1 (Masking):

The Address Book Data Privacy enhancement restricts users from viewing address book information that is determined to be personal data. Masking will be applied the exact same way it is applied in JDE if set up in Personal Data Security. Nothing additional needs set up in InsightUnlimited for this enhancement to take effect.

Aging Start Date:

Reporting users with Configurator can add a filter that allows report consumers for both Reporting and Console to modify the start date of an Aging Category.

Community Portal

Community Portal pages and content can now be exported to PDF.

The InsightUnlimited Administrator application now has access to the Community Portal in the ribbon.

Filters

Users can filter a report such that it includes rows where the value in the filtered column is null.

User can filter on a column which is on the outside of an outer join, and still see all the rows of the inner table when selecting the Include Non Matching filter option.

Reporting users with the Configurator license can configure a read-only filter to display descriptions instead of codes.

The Reporting User now has the option to define whether the code or description displays in the filter.

In Inquiry Options, the user can choose the keyword that is used to represent NULLs in filters.

General

The Insight product name is now InsightUnlimited and the Insight application name is now Reporting.

When security is enabled, the selected role/responsibility is now displayed in the About dialog to make support easier.

Table and column names are now displayed in Columns, Sorting and Grouping-Consolidation tab as well as Sorting & Grouping tab for Label columns.

When running a report, a user can turn off filter warnings in the warning dialog that pops up when Run is selected.

The background color of the piano lines on the report can be defined as a user preference.

Languages

InsightUnlimited has now been translated to Dutch.

Added the ability to set the date and numeric format for the user within InsightUnlimited to be different from the regional setting on the workstation. This is very handy in Citrix environments.

Printing

Excel Export now defaults to 'xlsx' file format while retaining the option for 'xls'.

The Excel default file format now can be defined in User Preferences for 'xlsx' or 'xls'.

In Print Options you can configure page and file breaks when exporting to Excel, which is the equivalent to the page and file breaks for PDF.

The Role/Responsibility can be included on the cover pages of PDF/Excel and Word exports.

Report Title

Added the ability to have a URL as a hyperlink in the Report Title.

Users can add to the title inquiry the Special Dynamic Selection: Run Date and Time option.

When inserting a dynamic date field in the inquiry title, it will be formatted using the long date format of the user's Windows culture. This can be changed to use any other date notation offered in the drop-down menu.

Report Title Format has been enhanced to allow for each character format to be defined individually.

Boolean, string and date report variables can be added into my report title.

Designer Express (DX) Enhancements

Effective Date Processing Using Effective Date Condition: Desginer Express Developer (DXD) users can design a

report such that it selects records in a table by comparing today's date against a start effective date column and/or an end effective date column.

Using Effective Date Join: DXD users can define a 'date effective' join from a date column in one table to 'start effective date' and 'end effective date' columns in another table.

In DX, it is now possible to design inquiries joining columns using various comparison operators other than 'equals'. Additional operators include: Not equal to, Greater than, Greater than or Equal to, Less Than, Less than or Equal to.

DXD users can see the unique (primary) key information in the Add Table dialog by scrolling towards the right of the left panel in this dialog.

In addition to the list below, 2013.1 also includes all fixes up to and including 2012.2 SP4.

Administrator & Technical Updates If on Oracle 11.2.0.1, incorrect results could be returned if using reports created using

Designer Express. An upgrade to 11.2.0.3 is recommended to avoid this issue.

In the Profile Wizard, we added a new 'Line of Business (F03012) Join Option' called ‘Line of Business (F03012) Join Option’ to ‘Use LOB first (AN8/CO) and Default Company second (AN8/00000)’.

The Profile Wizard now correctly looks for table F95922 in the Security Connection and the profile completes successfully.

The Profile Wizard end task “Setup Standard Templates” does not re-import every template. Templates are only imported upon first use or when changes to templates have been made in a release.

Console users now have access to view the SQL query when they have this Advanced Capability enabled.

The Synchronize function no longer defaults to the “Show Updates” option being selected so users don't accidentally reset all the defined user groupings.

Users are able to delete history from Logging now without any exceptions.

Budgeting Updates Budgeting source tracking information is now stored in the database instead of the budget

cycle in order to improve the submission performance.

Performance when accessing the Cycle Status dialog has been greatly improved.

As a Budgeting user who is not a contributor, the error message received is more clear when user attempts to enter into budget mode.

As a Budgeting Contributor, when I apply an Excel model that includes wildcards, the model will not be saved afterwards.

Incorrect configuration of Library/Program for World Budgeting Upload no longer causes an exception.

Designer Express DX inquires with certain conditional calculations involving substring will now display data

properly after upgrading.

General Updates Console users are able to use reports which rely on the Currency Restatement feature

without having to have a CUR license assignment for the Console user.

The Community Portal tab name has been changed from Insight to Community Portal.

Users can now appropriately specify formatting for the title in charts.

When upgrading from Winter 2012, formatting isn't lost on totals.

Comment from Comment Column no longer displays in the chart legend.

Date columns for reports exported in Excel are now recognized as dates and can also apply other date formats.

User can define a calculated column which computes the length in characters of the text in another column.

There is now a validation code in the Conditional Calculations user interface to prevent the user from entering invalid conditions.

Users can use the comma character within the String function in a calculation. The inquiry no longer exception when comma is used in a calculation.

When referring to a calculation within another calculation an exception error is no longer received.

Old reports that have 'year' as a dimension in the Hierarchy don't exception when imported and used in newer versions of InsightUnlimited.

In the More Columns Dialog, the text and the website saying 'Haven't found the column you are looking for? Contact us: http://support.InsightSoftware.com' has been removed.

When upgrading from XP to Win7, user interface improvements have been made to the User Edit Dialog.

The SQL query displayed is nicely formatted when opening the SQL dialog.

Module Updates ACA: Balances: New left outer alternate join from the Cost Analyzer Balances Table

F1602 to the Item Master Table F4101 (via F4801).

AP: Vendor History reports performance has drastically improved compared to earlier versions.

AR: Added access to High Balance (A5AHB) from F0301 for E1 and World to all AR Templates.

AR: The option 'Integrated AR to GL' has been removed under the New Template options for AR as it is obsolete.

AR: Added a Lease Detail - Doing Business As column (F15017.NWDBAN) that can return the Address Book Alpha description for AR Templates.

AR: Incorporated a new Lease Master Detail (F15017) join to be 1:1 to all the AR Templates so AR Amounts are not multiplied.

GL: Updated Transactions templates to included a new Inquiry Option - 'Only show current lease version entry' to work with the F1501B Alternate Joins.

GL: Balances Template: GMOBJA now displays as Alternate Object Account in More Columns and De/Activate Columns.

GL: When using subledger type U and more than one description is relevant for a particular subledger, a different subledger description than previously displayed may be shown in inquiry results.

GL: Period To Date drilling from Balances to Transactions Linked Inquiry UI has been improved to display Period + Year = GL Date.

HR: Employee Details Template added access to Address Number (PTAN8) from Point In Time Employee Master Table F0601161.

INV: The UOM Conversion Factor will no longer produce an exception when the Item's UOM Conversion definition has '0 or null' in the Conversion to Primary column (F41002.UMCNV1). The Conversion Factor that will be returned will be 0.0000000.

INV: In the Item Ledger Transactions template and UOM Conversion for Item Ledger Transactions Template, a Left Outer join to the Lot Master - F4108 has been added.

PM: Introducing the new Real Estate Management module, which retires the Property Management module.

PM: Property Management only appears on the Choose Modules dialog of the Profile Wizard if the License Key contains it.

QSF: QSoftware - New view VY5AIF945 added in the QSF Module in the Profile Wizard.

REC: Inventory to GL Reconciliation template: GL records in the Cardex regardless of the value (zero, blank, etc) can be filtered on based on the GL Date (F0911) in the report header.

REC: Inventory to GL Reconciliation now excludes batch type 'XX' to prevent inventory amounts from duplicating.

MFG: While importing a hierarchy, the hierarchy parameter now says Parent Item Number and not Root Assembly.

MRP: Added the Address Book table (F0101) and AB Contact Phone Numbers table (F0115) to the MRP Time Series Template.

RNV: Added Inquiry Option to 'Merge Company' column to the Reconciler RNV Variance Report.

SOP: New Alternate Join in the Sales Order Detail template: F4211.MCU (Branch Plant) to F4102.MCU (Branch Plant) and F4211.ITM (Short Item Number) to F4102.ITM (Short Item Number).

TAX: Tax Detail & Summary templates: alternate join for table F0101 now defaults to use “Join on AN8 (Left Outer Join) (Via F0006)".

Scheduler Updates A Scheduler user can choose a Console user to be the 'Run As' user for a task.

A Scheduler user can schedule a task which runs and distributes a Report Pack.

A Scheduler user can choose to save the PDF and/or Excel output of a scheduled task to a folder, in addition to sending it by email.

If a scheduled report is configured for 'file breaks', then all the files are included in the output.

When a scheduled report is exported in PDF form to a folder and includes a chart, the chart is included in the export.

Scheduled Task successfully runs and completes when Run As User is a numeric value.
