Please bring your child’s original birth certi#cate to the meeting. !e Baptism Preparation Class for Parents and Godparents is held on the Monday before the Baptism at 7:00pm in the Church. Dear Brothers and Sisters,

!is week’s bulletin includes information about two exciting opportunities that our parish will o$er for your Youth and Young Adults. !e #rst is a Youth and Young Adult Bible Study that will begin at the end of July and will be lead by Josh Rosa on Monday Nights in the school auditorium. !e Registration Cost for the Bible Study is $25, which will cover a portion of the study book and the new study bible every participant will receive. Registration is available in the Rectory till July 17th. Although the bible study will be geared for the Youth and Young Adults, all of our English-speaking parishioners are welcome!

I am also delighted to announce that in August, our parish will be hosting a Summer Camp for Teens (13 to 17 years old). !e Camp will take place here at St. Brigid from August 16-21 from 10am to 4pm. !e cost for the week-long summer camp will be $75, which includes a t-shirt and meals every day. Josh Rosa will need volunteers and parents to help him cook and serve the meals every day during the Camp. To register your child or sign up to be a volunteer and help with the meals, please call the Rectory.

Happy Fourth of July! Today we celebrate the commemoration of the Declaration of Independence and the birth of our beloved nation. While this day is usually about BBQs and #reworks, it is also an opportunity to stop and pray for our nation, thanking God for our many blessings and asking for His guidance in our land. Recent months have brought to the fore many of the issues facing our nation: our shameful history of slavery and racism, political divisiveness, our failure to protect the unborn, and the host of other problems facing our nation. It is so important that we take a good and honest look at all the failures of our society.

Nevertheless, it is also vital that we recognize and thank the Lord for the great aspects of our nation. We are blessed to live in a country where all have the freedom to come and go as they please. We enjoy religious liberty and are free to practice our faith as we please. We can speak our minds and campaign and vote for changes. Many folks in other countries do not enjoy these freedoms. While poverty and violence are signi#cant issues in our nation, we certainly live in conditions far better than most of the world. Today is an opportunity to thank the Lord for all these blessings and to implore his mercy so that our nation may hold fast to the famous words: “we hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness…” May we always be “one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

El boletín esta semana incluye información sobre dos oportunidades emocionantes que nuestra parroquia ofrecerá a sus jóvenes y jóvenes adultos. El primero es un Clase de Biblia para jóvenes y jóvenes adultos que comenzará a fines del mes de julio y será dirigido por Josh Rosa los lunes por la noche en el auditorio de la escuela. El costo de inscripción para la Clase de Biblia es de $25, que cubrirá una parte del costo del libro de estudio y de la nueva Biblia de estudio que recibirá cada participante. El costo del campamento de verano de una semana será de $75, que incluye una camiseta y comida todos los días. Josh Rosa necesitará voluntarios y padres que lo ayuden a cocinar y servir las comidas todos los días durante el campamento. Para registrar a su hijo o inscribirse para ser voluntario y ayudar con la comida, llame a la rectoría.

¡Feliz Cuatro de Julio! Hoy celebramos la conmemoración de la Declaración de Independencia y el nacimiento de nuestra amada nación. Este día generalmente se trata de asados y fuegos artificiales, pero también es una oportunidad para detenernos y orar por nuestra nación, agradecerle a Dios por nuestras muchas bendiciones y pedir Su guía en nuestra tierra. En los últimos meses se han destacado muchos de los problemas que enfrenta nuestra nación: nuestra vergonzosa historia de esclavitud y racismo, la división política, nuestra incapacidad para proteger a los no nacidos y la multitud de otros problemas que enfrenta nuestra nación. Es muy importante que miremos bien y con honestidad todos los fracasos de nuestra sociedad.

Sin embargo, también es vital que reconozcamos y agradezcamos al Señor por los grandes aspectos de nuestra nación. Tenemos la suerte de vivir en un país donde todos tienen la libertad de ir y venir cuando quieran. Disfrutamos de la libertad religiosa y somos libres de practicar nuestra fe como nos plazca. Podemos decir lo que pensamos y hacer campaña y votar por cambios. Mucha gente en otros países no disfrutan de estas libertades. Mientras la pobreza y la violencia son problemas grandes en nuestra nación, ciertamente vivimos en condiciones mucho mejores que la mayoría del mundo. Hoy es una oportunidad para agradecer al Señor por todas estas bendiciones e implorar su misericordia para que nuestra nación se aferre a las famosas palabras: “Sostenemos como evidentes estas verdades: que todos los hombres son creados iguales; que son dotados por su Creador de ciertos derechos inalienables; que entre éstos están la vida, la libertad y la búsqueda de la felicidad…” Que seamos siempre“ una nación bajo Dios, indivisible, con libertad y justicia para todos.”
