Reinforcements/Composites Safety and protection
Quality creates value
12
Composite materials are high-performance products made of carbon fiber, glass and aramide fibers. These products are used mainly in the wind energy and automotive industry, the aerospace industry and for sports equipment.
12 IEC Moskau 2012
Application
Quality creates value
13
Materials and constructions in the aerospace industry need to be lightweight but at the same time reliable, rigid and stable even under extreme load. This problem is solved by using textile fiber reinforced composites.
13 IEC Moskau 2012
Application
Quality creates value
14
The change in climate and the requirements involved set new standards for motor vehicles. Lightweight construction materials help reduce fuel consumption and the weight for example of electric vehicles while increasing safety.

The importance of wind power as a new source of energy increases. Wings with a length of 60 meters are reality, lengths of 70 and even 90 meters are in the planning stage. Prerequisite for the production of these huge and highly stressed structures will be the usage of composites featuring high stability and rigidity and, at the same time, low weight.
16 IEC Moskau 2012
Application
Quality creates value
17
The construction industry more and more uses composite products because of the mentioned material properties. Whether for new buildings or improvements, bridges or fronts - the substance remains preserved and the durability is increased cost-effectively by using construction composite materials with textile inserts.

18
Aluminium and steel elements quickly reach their limits in machine construction. Composites open doors to new dimensions as to machine performance. They offer high stability and rigidity as well as a good damping behaviour.

Whether for golf, hockey or tennis, skiing or cycling – carbon fiber products are of high quality, reduce the weight, improve mechanical characteristics and thus meet exactly the specific requirements for sport equipment.

Claude Dornier (1884 - 1969) ... joined Count Zeppelin‘s works at
Friedrichshafen (Germany) in 1910. Together with Hugo Junkers he was the first to sucessfully design and develop aircraft and seaplanes entirely made from metal (Duralumin).
Legendary – the Dornier-Wal (maiden flight in1922) was the most successful flying boat in the 20s and 30s of the last century.
1931 he embarked on a spectacular expedition from Europe to South and North America with his 12-engined Do X, at its time the world‘s largest passenger airplane.

Peter Dornier (1917 - 2002) The second eldest son of Professor Claude
Dornier joined his father‘s company in 1944 as an aircraft design-engineer. He was instrumental in the development of the German aircraft industry:
Amongst others he invented and developed the tandem engined propeller-fighter Do 335 “Arrow“ which earned him the „Preis der Lilienthal-Gesellschaft für Luftfahrt„ in 1944.
Design of the Do 31, the first and only vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) jet freighter in history (1960).
As from 1950 in parallel, foundation and development of Lindauer DORNIER GmbH as a producer of textile and plastic machinery
1985 he takes over Lindauer DORNIER GmbH
