Our family-owned winery is committed to quality wines and to protecting our resources for the future. We are solar powered, certified sustainable, practice Fish Friendly Farming and we are Sonoma County’s first carbon neutral winery. HISTORY Rod Strong was among the first modern wine pioneers with a vision to plant Pinot Noir in the Russian River Valley. In 1968, he planted our heritage River East Vineyard in the alluvial clay-loam soils adjacent to the winery in Healdsburg. Today the Russian River Valley is well established as one of the premier Pinot Noir growing regions in the world, and we continue to rely on the original River East Vineyard as a core contributor to our estate vineyard bottling. THE VINEYARD 2013 was the kind of growing season that most would wish we could have every year: a dry, frost-free spring, a warm summer without heat spikes, and a warm rain free autumn that allows for picking all varieties in their turn when they are perfectly mature. Our Russian River Valley Pinot Noir was harvested September 12 th through September 29 th under ideal conditions. TASTING NOTES The 2013 Estate Russian River Valley Pinot Noir has lovely aromas of cherry and rose petals. With a soft and silky texture on the palate, cherries, pomegranate, floral and baking spice characteristics shine through with balance, acidity and a nice lingering finish. This medium bodied wine was aged for 13 months in small French oak barrels, which added a hint of toasty vanilla and spice complexity. Enjoy this Pinot Noir now with a roasted chicken with a red wine butter reduction sauce, roasted pork loin or wild mushrooms over polenta or cellar it for enjoyment for the next two to four years. 2013 PINOT NOIR ESTATE VINEYARDS WINEMAKER Rick Sayre, Justin Seidenfeld ALCOHOL 14.5% TA 0.52 g/100 mL PH 3.59 APPELLATION Russian River Valley Sonoma County VARIETAL 100% Pinot Noir CELLAR & FERMENTATION 13 months in 100% French oak barrels, 35% new © 2015 Rodney Strong Vineyards, Healdsburg, CA #RS4000084 Place Matters.
