Running Start
What is Running Start?
An opportunity to earn College Credit and High School Credit at the same time
Requirements:• Must be a high school junior or senior toparticipate• Must pass placement test for English/Math or provide a transcript/SBA scores• Must meet all program deadlines
Cost:• Local school district pays the tuition up to 15 credits (depends on EHS enrollment, see RSEVF)• Students pay for books, class & student fees, and parking• Running Start only funds College level courses – 100 level and above
How doesit work?
1. Students may attend RS full time or part-time
2. Students attend the information session at BC, CWU, or LWiT andcomplete all of the registration steps to enroll
3. Request transcript online/SBA4. Students schedule a meeting with EHS
counselor to plan schedule by Mayonce they have received the RSEVF
5. Turn in EHS RS Agreement form6. If you decide to do part time, your
counselor will work with you in Juneto help arrange which periods you will be at EHS

Things to consider
• Fast pace and time demands of college studies• More outside time studying than typical EHS courses
• A new social environment and age diversity
• Doing poorly harms both high school and collegetranscripts
• More and more classes are online or hybrid
• EHS Clubs and Athletics - scheduling/time conflicts
• Sports eligibility (WIAA) # of credits, and grades

• 15 credits per quarter is fulltime – anything over you pay for • One 5 credit college class is = to 1.0 high school level

There are course equivalencies for each college –you can find them on Powerschool and EHS Counseling pages
Any class under 100 level will not be covered (Alg 2)
Each quarter a new form must be submitted. Email your counselor to set up an appointment.
NO DROP INS
Print a copy of the RSEVF at home, fill out the top student section with parent signature before your appointment with your EHS Counselor.
You will go over your class choices and graduation requirements each time to keep you on track for graduation.
