Address 3. Information Sought :- REGARDING MECHANICAL AND AUTOMATION ENG. BRANCH IN GGSIPU,DELHI SIR, With due respect I would like to get some information under RTI ACT 2005. 1. On 26 November 2012, Delhi high court justice PradeepNandra jog and Manmohan Singh ordered MHRD to set up a panel to fix parity in technical degrees, what is the name of the committeeformed in compliance to the court’s order? Who are the committee members? 2. On the directions of the court, this committee had to submit a compliance report by April 9, 2013, what is the status of the report at present? What is the expected date of announcement of result of committee’s enquiry and where will it be published for public interest? 3. Has this committee received any circular regarding “MECHANICAL AND AUTOMATION” branch that is the upgraded branch of mechanical engineering (ME) by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi approved by AICTE? 4. Is MECHANICAL AND AUTOMATION ENGINEERING (MAE) case, which is approved by AICTE is being considered by this committee? 5.AICTE, a legitimate body has approved MAE degree by GGSIPU, Delhi, Some of the public sector undertakings (PSU’S) like Coal India Limited(CIL),Hindustan petroleum corporation limited(HPCL) etc. are not considering the MAE students eligible for ME posts for recruitment despite the fact that the University is issuing MAE equivalent to ME certificate? Why is there lack of information and confusion among several PSU’s about this MAE degree?

Where are the loopholes in the in these whole processes when the life of thousands of students is at stake? After studying 4 year why are these students being deprived of their job opportunities? Is it not MHRD’s responsibility to ensure rights for MAE graduates? 6. Since equivalence certificate by GGSIPU & ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY is not acceptable to many PSU’s ,many meritorious students of MAE are rejected job opportunities for ME posts merely on the grounds of degree or nomenclature(MAE).MAE students study all subjects of ME as well as additional subjects of Automation ,what is reason behind this attitude of PSU’s towards MAE? What about the students who have passed with MAE degree? Is merely approving unconventional and upgraded branches like MAE is the end of role and responsibility of AICTE? Who ensures safety of interests of students? 7. I state that information sought does not fall within the restrictions contained in the Section
