RSR Series Aluminum Cord GripsAAAAAAAA
Straight Body, External Cord ThreadRSR Series Grips are used in conduit hubs or knock-outs at
the point where the electrical cable is to be terminated. They
are used in indoor as well as outdoor applications to prevent
cable pullout, control cable arc of bend, and provide an
environmental seal against dirt, moisture, coolants, corrosive
fumes, etc. The seal is accomplished when the tapered rubber
bushing (Neoprene) is driven into a tapered seat in the grip
body by tightening the nut. An anti-friction washer is
supplied between the nut and bushing for ease in
compression. Remke's rugged cord grips protect cable from
damage. They are offered in machined aluminum, steel,
stainless steel, and nylon fittings. These fittings are also
offered in a variety of configurations as well as N.P.T. and
PG metric thread sizes.

bending of the cable. They are used primarily where flexiblecable connects electrical equipment to bus duct. They are alsoused to support or restrain air hose and water hose.Double Bus Drop Grips store excess cable neatly.Bus Drop Grips with Safety Springs and Strain ReliefGrips can provide a complete flexible cord system whichadapts to any layout. The Strain Relief Grips relieve the strainon the terminals. The Bus Drop Grips provide positivepermanent support which, unlike rigid conduit systems, canbe adjusted instantly if equipment is repositioned. Almost anysystem can be installed quickly even in cases whereequipment and bus duct are distantly located or awkwardlypositioned.

MaterialThe standard mesh material is galvanized steel which hashigh tensile strength and corrosion resistance (more thanadequate for most indoor applications).Optional stainless steel grips are available. All Bus Drop Grips are "Wide Range" (to accept more cableper size) with strand equalizers which uniformly distributecompressive force over a large area of the cable for maximumgripping strength with minimum concentration of forcewithout pinching the cable.
Features/Benefits• Few Grips are needed to fit many cable sizes.• Readily installed, adjusted, repositioned, removed or re-
used which saves time and money when relocating plantwiring or machines.
• Easily attached to both open and closed end structures.• Automatically adjust their gripping to hold the required
load.• No special installer skill or special tools required.• Increases safety to personnel working in the application
area.
Working Load/Safety FactorThis is an abbreviated version of the more detailedinformation on catalog page 28. The approximate breakingstrength of the Remke grip represents an average calculationbased on test factors which have been determined in ourengineering labs using NEW grips and metal rods. As a ruleof thumb the working load may be considered 1/10 of the
approximate breaking strength listed in the catalog.CAUTION: The broad application of Remke grips requiresadequate safety factors be used to establish a SAFE workingload. Refer to specific catalog pages for more information.Single Eye Grips employ a single eye for each attachment toopen hooks or other open end structural members. Theformed eye tube assures long, trouble-free resistance to wear. Can be used with SAFETY SPRINGS.Universal Bail Grips employ a flexible "universal" bail eyefor each attachment around closed-end structures such aspipe, columns or through closed eyes. The universal bail is asecure, self-locking attachment and is reusable. Removal issimple and quick. Can be used with SAFETY SPRINGS.Safety Springs can be used with either SINGLE EYE orUNIVERSAL BAIL GRIPS to relieve sudden tensionsexerted on cable system. When used with single eye grip, disassemble drawbar from coil, placing drawbar through eyeof grip, then replace drawbar.
Liqua-Seal Mesh ConnectorsLiqua-Seal Mesh Connectors prevent pullout and providestrain relief when connecting liquid-tight flexible metalconduit to electrical enclosures.
MaterialThe standard mesh design is single weave, corrosion freestainless steel, these mesh grips are available with fittingsmade of steel (3/g"-l" straight connectors) or ductile iron (1-l/4"-2" straight connectors and all 45° and 90° connectors),with or without insulated throat.
Features/Benefits• The mesh exerts a uniformly distributed compressive force
over a large area of the conduit for maximum grippingwithout pinching the conduit.
• An endless weave conforms to the conduit, eliminatingwedging or crushing of the conduit at that point.
• Mesh material has high tensile strength and corrosionresistance.
• Readily installed, adjusted, repositioned, removed or reused.• Automatically adjust their gripping to hold the required
load.• No special installer skills or special tools required.
Working Load/Safety Factor(see Wide Range Strain Relief Grips)Standard Strain Relief Connector GripsStandard Strain Relief Connector Grips are used inconduit hubs or knock-outs at the point where the portableelectrical cable is to be terminated. The provide anenvironmental seal against dirt, moisture, coolants, corrosivefumes, etc. and provide strain relief where undue strain onthe cable would otherwise cause loosening or pull-out at theindividual wire terminals. Primary applications are in thewiring of portable power tools, power centers and bus dropcable systems.
MaterialThe Standard mesh design is multi-weave corrosion freestainless steel, these mesh grips are available with fittingsmade of aluminum in straight, 45° or 90° body design; alsowith fittings made of steel, stainless steel or nylon in straightbody design. All these fittings come with neoprene bushings.
Features/Benefits• The mesh exerts a uniformly distributed compressive force
over a large area of the cable for maximum gripping withoutpinching the cable.
• An endless weave conforms to the cable jacket, eliminatingwedging or crushing of the cable at that point.
• Mesh material has high tensile strength and corrosionresistance.
• Readily installed, adjusted, repositioned, removed or reused.• Automatically adjust their gripping to hold the required
load.• No special installer skills or special tools required.
Working Load/Safety Factor(see Wide Range Strain Relief Grips.)
Wide Range Strain Relief GripsWide Range Strain Relief Grips connect flexible cord or busdrop cable to electrical enclosures and equipment. Designedprimarily to prevent pull tension on cable to be transmitted tothe joints or terminals. The National Electrical Code requiresterminal tension protection. Easily installed. Primaryapplications are indoors in the wiring of electrical enclosures, such as power boxes, cabinets, panel boards, machine tools, portable power tools, power centers and bus drop cablesystems. They can be used with Bus Drop Grips and Safety Springs toprovide a complete flexible cord system that adapts to anylayout.
MaterialThe standard mesh design is wide range mesh single weave, made of galvanized steel. Gasket seals are made of P.V.C.Available with insulated or non-insulated fittings made ofaluminum.
Features/Benefits• The mesh exerts a uniformly distributed compressive force
over a large area of the cable for maximum gripping withoutpinching the cable.
• An endless weave conforms to the cable jacket, eliminatingwedging or crushing of the cable at that point.
• Mesh material has high tensile strength and corrosionresistance (more than adequate for most indoorapplications).
• P.V.C. gasket seals out large dust particles, lint or metalfilings and other contaminants from the electricalconnections.
• SR series has a male N.P.T. tapered thread and locknut forthe l/2"-2-l/2" thread size. This allows easy attachment toenclosures up to 3/8" thick. An insulated bushing is providedto prevent metal to conductor contact.
• Adjusts to wide range of cable or cord diameters, so fewergrips are needed to fit many cable sizes.
• Readily installed, adjusted, repositioned, removed or reused.Makes relocating plant wiring and machines easy.
• Automatically adjust their gripping to hold the requiredload.
• No special installer skills or special tools required.

If a Mesh Grip is required, add letter "E' to end of Remke part number. Thischart is based on the cable diameters shown. The actual diameter of thecable being used may require the next larger or smaller cord grip bushing.Cable diameters vary between manufacturers and because cable manufac-turers must allow tolerance, their published data should be checked.Note: The bushinq I.D. should be larqer than, but as close as possible to,the cable O.D.
