FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Rainier Prep Public Charter School Opening Fall 2015 Seattle, WA (November 3, 2014)—Approved as one of Washington’s first public charter schools, Rainier Prep plans to open its doors to students in fall 2015 in the Highline area, providing families with a new option for middle school. Rainier Prep is a free 5 th – 8 th grade middle school open to all students and modeled after some of the highest performing public charter schools in the country. Rainier Prep’s experienced faculty and staff are committed to academic excellence for every student. They will implement an innovative educational model that provides a rigorous college prep education emphasizing foundational skill building, critical thinking and personalized support. Rainier Prep plans to graduate all eighth graders ready to enter high school on a firm pathway to college. Rainier Prep’s approach is to specifically build foundational skills in literacy and math, use inquiry-based learning through “challenges” that promote real world learning, and develop leadership. Our experienced founding team will be relentless in pursuit of our mission. Rainier Prep is committed to a rigorous college prep curriculum that will support, challenge and inspire all students who walk through its school doors. Maggie O’Sullivan, Rainier Prep’s Founding Leader comments: “Rainier Prep offers families a new choice and gives educators the flexibility to innovate to best meet each child’s needs.” Rainier Prep is NOW ENROLLING current 4 th & 5 th graders (to be 5 th & 6 th graders in fall 2015) and is hosting info meetings in different locations throughout November (see details below)
