communities who have been affected by this disaster.
There will be a collection box in the office should you wish to make a donation to
the Nepal appeal.
Communication, Language and Literacy
Reading the stories of Mr Bump and Mr Jelly.
Looking at the letter ‘j’ and distinguishing it from the letter ‘i’ in formation
as it has a long tail that goes underneath it. Reinforcing that this is the letter ‘jay’ that makes a ‘j’ sound as in jelly. Whereas the letter ‘g’ is
called ‘jee’ and usually makes a ‘g’ sound like at the start of ‘girl’.
(At this point we usually overlook the fact that g and make the j sound in some words such as huge and giant but if they come up in words within
books you are sharing, you can say its an exception.)
Sharing words beginning with ‘j’.
Writing our names on the whiteboard. Writing simple cvc words as labels.
Attempting to label our Mr Men using the new letters we have learnt.

This week Years 3, 5 and 6 enjoyed learning French and Spanish using the Linguascope website on their laptops
(Year 4 starts next week). This was exciting as they can all learn languages by
playing educational games which suit their own individual pace and level.
We want to make language learning through ICT a regular occurrence and there are lots more
