Round 2
Quanti-MANIA answers
1. Answer: B (Rs. 3600)
Explanation: A:B: C = 16000
x3 + 11000×9:12000 x 3 + 17000 x 9:21000 x 6 = 147:189:126 = 7:9:6
Difference of B and C’s shares = Rs. [26400 x (9/22) — 26400 x (6/22)) = Rs. 3600.
2. Answer – A (Rs 10 and Rs 16)
Explanation – Total price of the two books = Rs. [(12 x 10) – (11.75 x 8)] = Rs. (120 – 94) = Rs. 26 Let the price of one book be Rs.x Then, the price of other book = Rs. (x + 60% of x )= x + (3/5)x= (8/5)x so, x +(8/5)x=26 , x=10 The prices of the two books are Rs. 10 and Rs. 16
3. Answer – B (6 : 10 : 5)
Explanation – Let the initial invest
ments of P and Q be 3a amd 5a.
P : Q : R = (3a x 12) : (5a x 12) : (5a x 6) = 36 : 60 : 30 = 6 : 10 : 5.

Quanti-MANIA answers
1.Answer – A (45000)
Explanation – A : B : C = 10 x 7 : 12 x 5 : 15 x 3
= 70 : 60 : 45
= 14 : 12 : 9. ∴ C’s rent = Rs. [175000 x 9/35] = Rs. 45000.
10 and Rs. 16
3. Answer – B (18)
Explanation – Total age of all members = 6 x 22 = 132 years
7 years ago, total sum of ages = 132 – (6 x 7) = 90 years
But at that time there were 5 members in the family
Average at that time = 90 /5 = 18 years

Round 3
tech-MANIA answers
1. RPC hides the intricacies of the network by using the ordinary procedure call mechanism
familiar to every programmer. A client process calls a function on a remote server and suspends
itself until it gets back the results. Parameters are passed like in any ordinary procedure. The
RPC, like an ordinary procedure, is synchoronous. The process that issues the call waits until it
gets the results. Under the covers, the RPC run-time software collects values for the parameters,
forms a message, and sends it to the remote server. The server receives the request, unpack the
parameters, calls the procedures, and sends the reply back to the client. It is a telephone-like
metaphor.
2. Given that Android is an open-source platform, and the fact that different Android operating
systems have been released on different mobile devices, there’s no clear cut policy to how
applications can adapt with various OS versions and upgrades. One app that runs on this
particular version of Android OS may or may not run on another version. Another disadvantage
is that since mobile devices such as phones and tabs come in different sizes and forms, it poses a
challenge for developers to create apps that can adjust correctly to the right screen size and other
varying features and specs.
3. Also called FIFO anomaly. Usually, on increasing the number of frames allocated to a process'
virtual memory, the process execution is faster, because fewer page faults occur. Sometimes, the
reverse happens, i.e., the execution time increases even when more frames are allocated to the
process. This is Belady's Anomaly. This is true for certain page reference patterns.

gives extra semantic to the particular entity/model element. It is given with in the

3. The arguments distinguish functions with the same name (functional
polymorphism). The name alone does not necessarily identify a unique
function. However, the name and its arguments (signatures) will uniquely
identify a function.
In real life we see suppose, in class there are two guys with same name, but
they can be easily identified by their signatures. The same concept is applied
here. Ex:102 class person

1.The access modifier keyword const is a promise the programmer makes to the compiler that
the value of a variable will not be changed after it is initialized. The compiler will enforce that
promise as best it can by not enabling the programmer to write code which modifies a variable
that has been declared const.
2.Page object has an "IsPostBack" property, which can be checked to know that is the page

Round 2
Quanti-MANIA answers
1. A) come far late
Explanation:
fa and late only present in last code
come and mo only present in second last code
far and ba only in 1st code.
2. D) come the here
Explanation:
mo is come
from 1st, 2nd and last – ‘is’ is ‘to’ from 2nd and last – the bus – ru zi
now if we see the options, come bus is not on any option. Come the is in two options, so one of
them is answer and thus ‘ru’ is ‘the’ di is present in 1st and 2nd code and from ‘late’ and ‘here’, ‘here’ is also present in both.
3. D) jo ba mo
Explanation:
‘come’ is ‘mo’, ‘far’ is ‘ba’. Now ‘mo’ and ‘ba’ in A, B, D options, from A, B, D options, ‘zo’ is
not present anywhere in the codes, and ‘this’ is also not present.

Round 2
Quanti-MANIA answers 1. C) 625 ml
Explanation: Since the diluted milk is sold at same price at which pure milk was bought,
Profit% = [(difference in actual weight and given)/(given weight)] * 100
Let from 1000 ml, x ml of pure milk is taken
Then [(1000-x)/x] * 100 = 60
2. B) 15.60
Explanation: Let x is the cost price, then by method of allegation:
Wheat(5 kg) wheat(10 kg)
15 12
. x
x-12 15-x
so [(x-12)/(15-x)] = 5/10
solve, x = 13
so at profit 20%, SP = (120/100) * 13
3. C) 36 years
Explanation: The difference of 4 years has come in the age of each of 9 remaining advisors, and since
the average is the same, there is the difference of (4*9) = 36 years in the age of old and
the young man.

Round 3
tech-MANIA answers
1. A latent defect is an existing defect that has not yet caused a failure because the sets of
conditions were never met.
A masked defect is an existing defect that hasn't yet caused a failure just because another
defect has prevented that part of the code from being executed.
2. No. The Minimal spanning tree assures that the total weight of the tree is kept at its
minimum. But it doesn't mean that the distance between any two nodes involved in the
minimum-spanning tree is minimum.
3. Proactive Update: The updates that are applied to database before it becomes effective
in real world.
Retroactive Update: The updates that are applied to database after it becomes effective
in real world.
Simulatneous Update: The updates that are applied to database at the same time when it
becomes effective in real world.

Round 4
code-MANIA answers
1.Answer: Option C
Explanation:
Line 1 creates two, one referred to by x and the lost String "xyz". Line 2 creates one (for a total
of three). Line 3 creates one more (for a total of four), the concatenated String referred to
by x with a value of "xyzabc".
2. Answer: Option B
Explanation:
Line 13 fails because == compares reference values, not object values. Line 15 succeeds because
both String and primitive wrapper constructors resolve to the same value (except for the
Character wrapper). Lines 17, 19, and 21 fail because the equals()method fails if the object
classes being compared are different and not in the same tree hierarchy.
3. Answer: Option D
Explanation:
Line 10 fails because b1 and b2 are two different objects. Lines 12 and 18 succeed because
the Boolean String constructors are case insensitive. Lines 14 and 16 fail because true is not
equal to false.
