Where can I purchase uniforms for the school? Our school’s PTSA has the uniform closet available year-
round where parents can purchase gently used uniform items for $3 each piece. There are also a variety of
locations that sell school uniforms. Examples include Sears, Kmart, Walmart, Rainbow, Rainbow Kids, JC
Penney’s French Toast in store and online. Please use the attached Uniform Policy when purchasing your
student’s uniforms.
How many locks does my student need for school? Each student is assigned a hall locker in which to place
their belongings. Students will also be required to have a lock for the gym locker in which to keep their PE
change of clothes. Combination locks are preferred, however if a key lock is purchased, a second key must be
on file in the Main Office at all times.
How do I know the bus stop for my student? You can find out the bus stop closest to your house by going to
the NPS website. Under the FOR PARENTS or FOR STUDENTS tab, there is a link that says FIND YOUR BUS
STOP. Under that link there is a way to enter your address and find out the bus stop. Transportation can also
be contacted at (757) 892-3320.
Is there a required gym uniform? Students are required to change into gym clothes. These include athletic
shoes and socks, and athletic clothes which are comfortable and safe to exercise in. The clothes should follow
the NPS guidelines for appropriate school attire.
Will I be able to play sports at Rosemont? At school, intramurals is an after school club. If students wish to
play middle school competitive sports, they may try out for sports with either Azalea Gardens Middle School
or Northside Middle School. Transportation is available to those schools. Once the activity is over, students
will be transported back home. If desiring to play sports with your “home school team,” parents will have to
provide the transportation. You may find a complete overview of all middle school sports including schedules,
physical forms, concussion education, and athlete handbooks under the FOR STUDENTS tab at the NPS
website (www.npsk12.com). Transportation for athletics begins on Monday, September 11, 2017. If your
student is interested in Fall Sports, you must provide transportation until that time. Students trying out for
any middle school sport must have a physical on file dated after May 1, 2017.
How much are the meals at school? Last year’s prices are as follows: school breakfast was 0.90 cents and the
lunch was $1.95. These prices are subject to change. You can access school breakfast and lunch menus under
