National currencyThe official currency in Romania is
leu (Romanian leu). The name (homonymous with the name of animal lion) comes from
Löwentaler (which had the figure of a lion on the reverse), silver coin circulated in
the Netherlands from the sixteenth century, then became the currency of assessment. The subdivision of leu is ban (plural: bani), 1 leu = 100 bani. Since 1991, inflation has practically
removed from use this subdivision of leu.

different dishes from several traditions with which it has come into contact, but it also maintains its own character. It has been greatly influenced by Ottoman cuisine, while it also includes influences from the cuisines of other neighbours, such as Germans, Serbs, Bulgarians and Hungarians.

Catherine's GateCatherine's Gate in
Braşov, Romania, was built by the Tailors’ Guild.
It is the only original city gate to have survived from medieval times.
At the present time here is a museum.

Braşov, Romania, is right next to Catherine's Gate.
• The stone and brick gate built in classical style like a triumphal arch has three openings.
The Black Church • It is the largest Gothic
religious edifice in southeastern Europe .
• The Balck Church has the largest bronze bell in Romania that weighs 6 tons , the largest collection of Oriental carpets in Europe and one of the largest organs .
The White Tower
• The White Tower is the second defense tower built on Warthe Hill, outside the city walls.
• The pitch holes were
specially designed to be covered by balconies .
The Black Tower • The Black Tower has
been known by this name when it was burnt by lightning.
• It is an important observation point both for defense and inside guard .
Poiana Brasov• Poiana Brasov is the
most popular Romanian ski resort and an important tourist centre .
• In 2013, it hosted skating and skiing competitions in the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival.
