In addition to English, and Spanish this Sacrament may also be in Italian.

•WEDDINGS/ MATRIMONIO Pre–marital instruction is a requirement for all engaged couples. Consequently, arrangements for weddings should be made SIX MONTHS in advance.

“Joshua addressed all the people, ‘If it does not please you to serve the Lord, decide

today whom you will serve… as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.’…

But the people answered, ‘Far be it from us to forsake the Lord for the service of

other gods…He performed those great miracles before our very eyes and protected

us along our entire journey…Therefore we also will serve the Lord, for he is our God.’” Not a day goes by

when we fail to make decisions. Some are important, others of little value. Many we do not ‘give a second

thought to.’ As I read the instruction of Joshua, the chosen successor of Moses, I find him challenging the

people – decide, and decide today. Like the people he spoke to, I probably can affirm the choice I have

already made to follow and serve the Lord. But let’s take it a step further. Do I only pay lip service or do I act?

Do I try to make a difference in the lives of others? What is the quality of my service? Joshua said ‘decide

today’. Are you ready?

“Entonces Josué dijo a todo el pueblo: si no están dispuestos a servir al Señor,

elijan hoy a quién quieren servir… Yo y mi familia serviremos al Señor’… El pueblo

respondió: ‘Estamos lejos de abandonar al Señor para servir a otros dioses…

El realizó ante nuestros ojos aquellos grandes prodigios. El nos protegió en todo

el camino que recorrimos … Por eso, también nosotros serviremos al Señor, ya que él es nuestro Dios.’” No

pasa un día sin que tengamos que tomar una decision. Algunas son importantes, otras de poco valor. Como

sea, siempre reflexionamos. Al leer las instrucciones de Josué, el elegido sucesor de Moisés, lo encuentro

retando a la gente: elijan, y elijan hoy. Así como a la gente a quien se dirigía, yo probablemente puedo

afirmar la elección que he hecho de seguir y servir al Señor. Pero llevémosla un paso más allá. ¿Hablo por

hablar o actúo? ¿Intento hacer una diferencia en la vida de otros? ¿Cuál es la calidad de mi servicio?

Josué dijo: ‘elijan hoy’. ¿Está usted listo?

Non è facile credere nel nostro mondo d’oggi. La verità che ci è rivelata da Dio in Gesù Cristo, agli uomini e alle donne del nostro tempo appare spesso un “discorso insostenibile”, a cui non si può chiedere a nessuno dei nostri sapienti contemporanei di credere. Così è, per esempio, per la dottrina della presenza reale del corpo e del sangue del Signore nella santa Eucaristia. Essa sembra essere una sfida al buon senso,

alla ragione, alla scienza. Noi diciamo: “Vedere per credere”, esattamente quello che disse san Tommaso: “Se non vedo... e non metto la mia mano, non crederò”. Gesù ci ricorda che il corpo di cui parla è il suo corpo risorto e salito al cielo, liberatosi, nella risurrezione, dai limiti dello spazio e del tempo, riempito e trasformato dallo Spirito Santo. Questo corpo non è meno reale del suo corpo in carne ed ossa, anzi lo è di più. Questo corpo risorto può essere toccato e afferrato personalmente da ogni uomo e donna di ogni tempo e luogo, perché lo Spirito si estende, potente, da un’estremità all’altra. In Gesù Cristo e tramite Gesù Cristo, credere significa vedere e toccare: un modo di vedere più profondo, più vero e più sicuro di quello degli occhi; un modo di toccare più in profondità e un modo di afferrare con una stretta più salda di quanto si possa fare con le mani. Credere significa vedere la realtà al di là del visibile; significa toccare la verità eterna. In questa fede e grazie ad essa, possiamo dire con Pietro; “Signore, da chi andremo? Tu hai parole di vita eterna”.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

Friday, September 7th

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will resume. Please note that a change will be

implemented at that time and will continue each month. After evaluating the

twenty-four hour adoration and because of various concerns, adoration will no longer continue

throughout the night. It has been decided that the adoration will begin on First Fridays following the 8am Mass and will conclude on Friday evening at 9pm with Benediction. Please make note of this

change for the future.

Parents must come in person to register child.

Birth & Baptism Certificate of Student. Every child must be re-registered each year. 2 consecutive years to receive a holy sacrament.

Combined Tuition Fees refer to siblings, not cousins.

BLESSED VIRGIN MARY Some may have noticed the refurbished statue of the Blessed Virgin on the side

of the church on Underhill Avenue. The statue, formerly on the grounds of

Holy Trinity Church, has been refurbished and installed here.

The work on the statue was contributed and is a testament to the merging of the two parishes.

We continue to invoke Mary, our mother to watch the parish of St. Vito-Most Holy Trinity.

rectory’s office. There are extra photographs of a number of children who received the sacraments

who did not initially purchase package D.

ADORACION DEL SANTÍSIMO SACRAMENTO

Adoración del Santísimo Sacramento se reanudará. Tenga en cuenta que un

SAGRADA VIRGEN MARÍA Algunos pueden haber notado la

estatua restaurada de la Virgen en el lado de la iglesia por la Avenida

Underhill. La estatua, anteriormente en el jardín de la iglesia Santa Trinidad, ha sido reformada e instalada aquí.

El trabajo en la estatua fue aportado y es un testimonio de la unión de las dos parroquias. Seguimos invocar a María, nuestra madre que

proteja la parroquia de St. Vito Santísima Trinidad.
