“Forging National Identity, My Malaysia” It has been identified that after 48 years of

independence, we have not fully achieved National Unity in the true sense.

This plainly means we the stake holders present here, the Law and policy makers and the people responsible to implement them have failed in our duties the achieve National unity. What could have gone wrong?

“ The Secret of his success lies perhaps in a genuine sincerity towards friends and an honest approach to political problems, with courage and perseverance.”

Unity and Solidarity in Schools Integration among school children at the

lowest level right up to institution of higher learning should be the main agenda of the day. They will be our future leaders

Students in schools seems to follow their peers reason are: similar interest , background, religious belief.

Reason seem to be fear and suspicion

The New economic policy

It had two prongs; not only help to eradicate poverty but also serve the objective of correcting racial economic imbalance.

National unity has several facets. Social and cultural, political and economical,

public and private, emotional and psychological factors.

The New economic policy

National unity is unattainable without greater equity and balance among Malaysia’s social and ethnical groups in their participation in the development of the country and in sharing of the benefits from modernization and economic growth.

Signed by: the late Prime Minister Tun Abdula Razak Bin Dato’ Hussein 25th June 1971

Aliran reports

Greed was the agenda of the day. When the call was made to renew NEP,

complete with keris and all, there was no doubt: greed was the agenda of the day!

The report also said, if, say a group of Chinese had presented what they called’ the Chinese agenda’ as a candidate for national agenda’, there would be – and correctly so howls of protest.

Possible Causes

It is, our political structure and the behaviour of all the politicians in the country, including the ruling government.

It has the power and authority, with an overwhelming majority, they are in the best position to bring change.

There is no need to play racial politics for survival. “again it’s man and priorities”
