AUST. HAIR FASHION AWARDS ! THE CLEAN UPRokk Ebony milestones were made recently at the Australian Hair Fashion Awards (AHFA) at Sydney’s Opera House, with the luxury hair group claiming three of hairdressing’s most revered trophies.

Aaron Chan stepped up to make history as one of the Australian industry’s youngest to win AHFA Men’s Hairdresser of the Year before Joey Scandizzo welcomed respect as team leader of the Sebastian Urban Design Team - the group claimed AHFA Artistic Team of the Year 2010. Both trophies the perfect introduction to Rokk Ebony’s third thrill for the night – the company stood proud as AHFA Salon Group of the Year 2010, a nod of respect for outstanding work in art and business.

Last but not least, the evening’s biggest moment went to none other than Joey Scandizzo – winner of AHFA Australian Hairdresser of the Year 2010. Congratulations to Joey for making history as the stylist who, despite the criticism of others, instinctively broke the rules of hair design whilst remaining true to his persona – subsequently etching his name into the industry’s archive as one of the youngest to earn the national title. Bravo.

HAIR EXPO HEROESHair Expo awards notoriously catapults a handful of Australian hairdressers to the acme of competitive success each year - and sitting on four !nalist positions and a positive consensus is Rokk Ebony.

Congratulations to the following Rokk Ebony stars – a crew you may be hearing and seeing a lot more of come June; !nalist for Hair Expo Australian Hairdresser of the Year; Joey Scandizzo, Hair Expo Colour Technician of the Year !nalist; Marie Uva, Hair Expo Salon Team of the Year !nalist; Pina Mercuri, Joey Scandizzo and Marie Uva – a trio who are also perched high on the Hair Expo Photographic Collection of the Year !nalist podium.

The results will be announced Monday June 14th at the elaborate Hair Expo gala at Sydney’s Exhibition Centre. With the industry collaboratively lauding the team’s 2010 photographic work as the best to ever wave the company "ag, chances are high for tales of Rokk Ebony victory at the industry’s most anticipated annual event. Fingers crossed.

VINCE VENEERJoey Scandizzo entertained the ‘do’ of local movie star Vince Collosimo recently in pre-media activity for the release of The Wog Boy 2: Kings of Mykonos. The gig undoubtedly resulted in a moment of confusion for The Age photo-shoot director as he assumedly pondered over whom of the pair was required on-set for the series of shots forming cover-story glory for The Age Magazine.

CARLI’S NIGHT WITH NAOPLEANForecasted as Rokk Ebony’s Rising Star, Mentone’s Carli Orsi has recently reaped reward as a growing in"uence on Australian hair and make-up. As part of her certi!cate II course, the budding !rst-apprentice entered a Victorian University competition along with a strong mix of contenders including certi!cate III students. Carli was required to submit a hair and make-up look using Napolean products, and as the winner, is anticipating gathering a plethora of inside tips and tricks from Napolean Perdis himself.

SCANDIZZO SETS STYLE PACE FOR SEBASTIANThe hair direction of Joey Scandizzo continued translating inspiration to hair artists from various corners of the globe recently with Scandizzo landing in India before Korea and Adelaide with his Sebastian Educator cap on. Sent to enlighten on peronalised representations of the company’s seasonal look-book of hair styles, Joey is earning quite the reputation as instigator of hot international trends.
