ROBO SOCCER LET’S PLAY WITH THE MACHINES WE CREATE…

SOCCER is a beautiful game…considered to be the most soulful of all

the sports. For all those who are passionate about ROBOTICS and

SOCCER…

presents ROBO SOCCER

Bots must work together in order to put the ball in the opposing

goal while at the same time defending their own. Players must adapt to

the behavior of their opponents. The motto is to have fun and not turn

this into a robowar…

If any team participates in both wired and wireless battles, the operator/driver must be different for wired and wireless bots.

The bots may be wired or wireless. The wireless kit can be of any kind which the participants prefer like RF, Bluetooth, WiFi, etc,.

The bots used by the team should not weigh more than 2.0 kg

(+0.5 kg tolerance) for wireless and

2.0 kg for wired bots (0.5 kg Tolerance) using simple geared motors.

2.0 kg for wired bots (0.5 kg tolerance) using high torque simple Johnson motors.

2.0 KG for wired bots (0.4 tolerance) using high torque square geared johnson motors.

All matches will be of 13 min (Two halves of 5 minutes and 3

minutes maintenance break).

Competitions will be held between polytechnic and engineering students COMBINELY and between wired and wireless SEPERATELY.

No bot would be allowed to incorporate the ball within its body so

that it is not playable for the opponent. Neither of the playing bots will be allowed to block each other without the ball in their possession.

Readymade Lego kits and IC engines are not allowed.

The penalty of blocking the bots and when the ball falls out of arena will be displayed at the arena of the match.

The Ball should not come under the bot. Referees will inspect the bots prior to every match.

The referee’s decision will be deemed final.

No deliberate ramming is allowed. Yellow cards (warning cards)

will be given for ramming more than twice. Red cards (disqualification cards) will be be given for ramming more than four times. Fair play is expected.

No weapons, gripers and actuations are allowed.

The ball can only be dragged or pushed by the bots (kicking mechanism is also allowed. But the bot should strictly follow the dimension norms).

The game will be started on the whistle by the referee. Teams making mistake during start more than 2 times will be penalized.

In case of jam up of bots for more than 15 seconds, the bots will have to kick off again at the command of the referee.

In case of bot break, maximum 15 minutes will be given for repairs. Failing to repair the bot within the time limit will lead to disqualification.

The organizers reserve the right to change any rule(s). Any changes in the rules will be highlighted on the website and will also be informed to the participants well before to the main event.

Robot and power specifications DIMENSIONS OF THE BOT :- Length 33 cm (length includes total

length of bot + pincers/non mechanical grippers) & Width 25 cm. Distance between pincers should be maximum 15 cm and length should not be more than 8 cm. (+2 cm tolerance in length of overall bot)

Power supply of 240 volts will be provided for wired bots (teams

will have to step down the voltage to 12 V using suitable apparatus of their own, or bring a 12 V regulated DC adapter/12V rechargeable batteries).

The motors used should not be more than 300 rpm. Strictly.

The wireless bots should have its own power supply, on the robot.

The voltage at any point on the electrical connections should not exceed 12 V(+1V).

Game play • The rounds are divided into

1. League matches/Survival 2. Knockout 3. Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Finals.

Page 6: ROBO SOCCER - pallottine-technex.com FINAL PPT.pdfFor all those who are passionate about ROBOTICS and SOCCER… presents ROBO SOCCER ... Different Types of Actuators ... Software and

• Each goal in the either half of the game will fetch +1 point to the team. • Powerplay of 30 seconds (anytime between 2-5minutes) will be decided by the organisers. • In the powerplay of each half, every goal scored will fetch +2 point to the team. • In case of a tie, a GOLDEN GOAL rule will be applied. The team scoring first will win the match. • Disobeying any of the rules mentioned may result to disqualification and/or (-2) points.

Prizes/Gift hampers will be given to the all teams.

Arena Two new bigger and better arenas this year…!!

Introduction of obstacles for increased difficulty.

One mystery arena for the finalists..!!

Fun arena for practice.
