    Continuing Education UnitsIMSA CEU Units: WSU Road & Street Maintenance Supervisors Conference will award 1.5 CEUs to each participant who successfully completes the Traffic Solutions Workshop. The CEU is a nationally recognized unit designed to provide a record of an individual’s continuing education accomplishments. Upon written request, a transcript of this record will be made available as designated by the participant. The cost to obtain IMSA CEUs is $10 with your registration fee.

    1.8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) may be earned by those completing the conference. An additional 0.8 CEUs may be earned by attending the Traffic Solutions Workshop. To receive CEUs, pay the $10 fee with your registration, obtain a CEU enrollment form from the conference desk upon arrival, complete it before the conference starts, and attend at least 80% of the conference. CEUs are nationally recognized units of achievement that may be used as evidence of professional development and for job advancement.     The 2009 MUTCD has been officially adopted and is in effect, with modifica-tions by WSDOT. The FHWA has already issued two amendments to the manual—one of which eliminates or modifies most compliance dates. This presentation will describe the changes—and the effect of the first two FHWA amendments.

    New WA Underground Utility Damage Prevention Law: Effects on Traffic Sign & Road Maintenance Activities

    The WSDOT Central Sign Shop is the only WSDOT fabrication shop in the state. It is located in Union Gap, a short drive from the conference. The sign shop creates an average of 7,000 square feet of signs per month and recycles about $150,000 per year in aluminum. Join us on a tour of the shop and see the variety of materials, sign sizes, equipment and processes used in this state-of-the-art facility. Transportation is on your own.
