Using the RMH Resource Editor The RMH Resource Editor is especially ideal for doing language translations. It will ensure that once you have translated the database labels, you will not need to redo the translations whenever a new product version is released – only the new tables and added fields will need to be translated. This saves you time by not having to redo the entire language table with every version update. You can also use the Resource Editor to make changes to help verticalize RMH for your specific retail profile. For example, if a retailer wanted to change the Tax references in RMH to VAT. This following explains how to use the Resource Editor in the RMH Administrator program. For the latest RMH documentation, visit http://rmhpos.com/resources/.

1. Open the RMH Store Administrator program.

2. Click Tools and then click Resource Editor. See following sample figure:

3. When the Editor window displays (see followng figure), click the Load button.

4. On the Load resource pop-up window, click the Resource file field to select the resource assembly to translate.

▪ To translate Store Manager resource labels: <Store Manager Application Path>\RR.App.Resources.dll (Neutral culture file) or any other; Culture specific file located under culture specific named sub folder e.g (ar)

▪ To translate POS resource labels: <POS Application Path>\RetailHero.POS.Resources.dll (Neutral culture resource file) or any other; Culture specific file located under culture specific named sub folder e.g (ar)

5. Select the Culture from the available drop-down list for which you want to see labels in that language.

6. Click the Load button. The Resource Editor will display, containing all the application’s value data.

NOTE: In the ribbon toolbar, you will see all the resources available for the selected file. In the drop-down list box are all the available resources.

NOTE: While translating a resource file using this Resource Editor, you do not need to translate all the labels at once before creating a new assembly with translated labels. You can store the edited labels in temporary cache so that you can continue translating the rest of the labels at a later time.

7. After making the applicable label edits, click Save.

Whenever you reopen the resource file for translation, it will check to see if there is a cache saved for this selected resource file with a selected locale. If it finds matching data previously saved, it will load previously made changes in the Resource Editor.

8. Once the labels in the applicable resource files have translated, click Export to create a new satellite assembly. This enables you to create a new resource file with the changes you made to the database labels. Once you have exported the file, you can then replace the files in the RMH Program files, and the system will point to these files and reflect the labels you have customized.

9. To use the newly created resource assembly for the application, copy the folder of the locale (e.g. en-ZA) from the path used to export the resource file. Paste this folder in the application path of the RMH Store Manager / POS program.

10. Click Configuration, click the Register tab, and then choose the language from the drop-down list. Note that the language must have a generated resource file.

11. Click the Save and Close button. To see the updated labels in the selected language, restart the application.
