Key Accomplishments
Prior to my arrival in 2011, the firm’s technology had become disjointed and dysfunctional. Mergers and acquisitions added offices around the country, and each had its own network, servers, and software. Sharing information was possible only via email. I was charged with the business objective of creating a foundation that unified the firm. After completing the largest technology initiative ever accomplished by Brownstein, lawyers and staff expressed the project was a great success.
Developed and achieved a vision for a technology transformation that provides a consistent, high-quality user experience for attorneys and staff throughout all offices

Restructured and built the Technology Department with required technical skills and a service attitude
Created functional roles that clarified the priorities and responsibilities among technology staff
Formulated and chaired the firm’s first Technology Committee to help ensure technology resources are appropriately invested to meet the most important technology needs of the firm
Audited network security and implemented measures to address serious cyber threats
Implemented technology infrastructure as a private cloud with state-of-the-art, high-performance servers, SAN storage, and network within a tier-4 data center to protect the firm against security and environmental problems while providing consistent technology performance and reliability
Designed and implemented WAN (MPLS) to address performance and reliability problems in all offices
Implemented enterprise Wi-Fi solution that provides a secure, consistent, quality experience with wireless access to internal network for firm employees and Internet access for guests
Implemented Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) creating a consistent, high-quality user experience independent of location and end-user hardware
