Proses hidrogenasi dan hidrodeoksigenasi
untuk mengkonversi bahan terbarukan (minyak
nabati dan lemak hewani) menjadi hidrokarbon
dengan rentang didih diesel (terutama C15-C18)
membutuhkan konsumsi hidrogen yang
tinggi, sehingga dibutuhkan suatu cara untuk
mereduksi konsumsi hidrogen agar biaya produksi
dapat dikurangi.

Ringkasan penemuan (paten)
Perlakuan bahan pada zona reaksi dengan kehadiran 5%-30% massa air serta
hidrogenasi dan deoksigenasi bahan baku pada kondisi operasi untuk
memperoleh produksi reaksi pertama yang meliputi fraksi hidrokarbon
berupa n-parafin.
Sesaat setelah karbon monoksida diproduksi oleh reaksi dekarbonilasi, karbon
monoksida dan air bereaksi melalui water gas shift reaction menghasilkan
karbon dioksida dan hidrogen.
Hidrogen yang dihasilkan untuk penggunaan reaksi hidrogenasi dan
hidrodeoksigenasi.
Air dan karbon dioksida yang dihasilkan dari zona reaksi pertama
diintegrasikan dengan stripper bertekanan dan bersuhu tinggi
menggunakan hidrogen, produk kemudian dimasukkan pada zona
hidroisomerisasi dan produk isomerisasi tercukupi.
