ARMR Moto has revamped its
adventure touring jacket for 2014,
based on feedback on the original.
The basics remain the same with
a 600-denier outer shell including
ballistic fabric overlays in key
areas, CE-approved shoulder and
elbow armour, a CE back protector
and provision for an optional chest
protector. The changes are fixed
sleeves rather than the detachable
ones on the older version, colour-
coded zips for the waterproof
membrane and thermal liner, and two
additional waterproof pockets.

This AGV communications system is
designed to fit easily and discretely
into a range of the Italian firm’s
helmets, including the popular new
K3-SV model. The unit’s battery and
processor slot into the place of two
panels which are removed from the
inside of the chinbar and speakers go
into recesses in the polystyrene liner.
That only leaves a slimline control
panel on the outside of the shell to
let the rider adjust volume, switch
between phone, sat-nav, a built-in FM
radio or rider-to-pillion comms.

Dutch company Rev’It is taking a
serious stance with its new Jerez
Pro race gloves, which are based on
its existing Jerez gloves. They’re
made from a combination of
kangaroo leather, cowhide, and
mesh materials for airflow. And the
protection on the back of the hand sits
on a panel that flexes separately
from the rest of the glove,
boosting flexibility. There’s
also impact protection on
the cuff, which often takes a
hard whack in a spill, and the
stitching on the palm area is all
external so the seams don’t
disturb the comfort.

Avon released the Storm 3D X-M last
year as a long-lasting sports-touring
tyre and now it has added a range of
new fitments to suit adventure touring
machines and hypersports bikes. The
tyres boast sipes and a high silica
content for improved wet weather
performance, and Avon claims an
extra 15-20% mileage over the hard-
wearing Storm 3D tyres on which the
X-M is based. The X-M was originally
limited to 120/70 x 17 fronts and either
a 180/55 x 17 or 190/50 x 17 rears,
but now these additional sizes are
available: 110/70ZR17, 110/80ZR18,
110/80R19, 120/60ZR17, 150/70ZR17,
150/80ZR16, 160/60ZR17,
160/60ZR18, 160/70R17, 170/60ZR17,
190/55ZR17, 200/50ZR17.
