Lent

(Joh 1:29) The next day John seeth Jesus

coming unto him, and saith, Behold the

Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of

the world.

(1Pe 1:18) Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold,

from your vain conversation received by

tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood

of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and

without spot:

B. Patterns of

kings in the Bible

(Rev 13:1-2 ) And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast

rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns,

and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the

name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a

leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as

the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and

his seat, and great authority.

Pergamos

1. He is a both a Real person and a Representative person

• A king and kingdom

• An emperor and empire

2. When God refers to beasts in the bible in terms of prophecy, they are always representative of kings and kingdoms

NOTES

(Dan 7:7) After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a

fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong

exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and

brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and

it had ten horns.

(Dan 7:17) These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.

(Dan 7:23) Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the

fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and

shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

Pergamos

3. Many times in the Bible you will

find that God will refer to kingdom, by referring to a king. Or he will refer to a king by referring to a kingdom.

• Hitler to Germany or Germany to Hitler

• Pharaoh as Egypt and Egypt as Pharaoh

• We call them Heads of State

NOTES

(Eze 27:3) And say unto Tyrus, O thou that art situate at the entry of the sea, which art a merchant of the people for

many isles, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O Tyrus, thou hast

said, I am of perfect beauty..

(Eze 28:12) Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus

saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and

perfect in beauty.

(Eze 28:14) Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst

of the stones of fire.

(Eze 28:17) Thine heart was lifted up because of thy

beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to

the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may

behold thee.

Pergamos
