FROM the GOVERNOR

First I want to thank all those involved in the kitchen

remodel fund raiser. Jim Durkin put together a tremen-

dously successful golf tournament

Thank you Jim. Also a thanks to all who participated in

that tournament. Dinner :Pork Chops by Eve Mora” was

also a success. Thank you Eve, Ron, Jeanene, Donna,

Brenda. Followed up with an equally fun and successful

“Casino Night” brought to you by Brenda Rogers. Thank

you Brenda. In addition there were those who helped in

the kitchen cooking and cleaning. There were those that

helped with dealing for casino night as well as setting up

and tearing down. Thank you all.

Unfortunately I was a away for the end of summer bash

and missed what I was told was a great event. Again our

thanks to Brenda, Eve and Sandro. My apologies to any I

missed and I know there are many. Jerry Flores for exam-

ple. Thank you Jerry for the computer and generous dona-

tions. And last I want to give my personal thanks for all

the well wishes I received concerning my dad.

We are just about halfway to our goal on the kitchen

remodel fund. The kitchen has been Finished !!! Al,

Dave, Charles, Jack and others have worked countless

hours to get where we are. We are confident to have the

kitchen open for business very shortly. When dealing with

county and city things seem never to happen as fast as we

would like them to. Once officially re-opened I anticipate

we will be able to bring the fund to the top.

I would like to encourage more members to show up for

the lodge General Meetings. (2nd & 4th Wed. of month)

There are lots of great ideas passed around the social quar-

ters but unless these ideas are brought up at our general

meetings there is little that can be done. In addition I

would like your help with membership. Our lodge is the

best kept secret. Talk to your friends, relatives and co-

workers. Spread the word and it will result in increased

membership. Thank you all Derrick

Ventura Memorial Moose Golf Tournament

And Casino Night

I would like to acknowledge all of the hard work the people listed

below displayed in making our event a success.

First and foremost BRENDA ROGERS and EVE MORA who put

in many hours contacting various individuals and businesses to

donate cash and prizes, coordinating various functions, including

the “Pork Chop Dinner” by Eve and the raffles at casino night.

I would also like to thank Tanya Kennepohl for contacting various

businesses, and her help in the charity fundraiser (Gold Pendant)

for the American Cancer Society.

Others who donated cash and prizes for our event: Tracy Stickles-

Donnie Rea-Ralph Corona-Jamie Thorckmorton– Tim Goodwin-

Sickness and Distress

Bonnie Gary was hospitalized for an emergency appendec-

tomy, but is now at home and doing fine. We wish her a

speedy recovery and hope to see her around soon.

Andy Komar had surgery on 10/21. As of this day 10/26 he

should be home in a few days. The men and women of the

Moose wish him a speedy recovery. Hurry back to the lodge.

Barbara Rainer is in a Rehab center due to past problems

with Parkinson Disease. I’m sure Barbara would love to her

from her Moose friends TOWN & COUNTRY
