 Education Mission To engage the community stakeholders in a continuing dialogue about the learning environments that are an integral part of the preparation of its youth f or citizenship and global competitiveness. As an educational leader it is my role to cultivate relationships and procure resources to leverage opp ortunities for students of all ages. Accountable for all superintendent/principal related job responsibilities including serving as executive officer of the Board of Education. Duties also include preparing the budget using the ISBE budget form, state and federal reporting, curriculum design and implementation, teacher evaluation, school improvement planning, and staff development. Served as the Boards chief executive officer while it searched for a part-time superintendent to serve while consolidation i s considered. Accountable for all principal related  job responsibilities for a 600 student high school. Managed all aspects of the comprehensive high school program as well as student activities. 1999-2001 Principal   Vance and Redmon Elementary Schools. Accountable for all principal related job responsibilities for two 150 student intermediate grades three through five schools for Paris Union School District No. 95. 1998-1999 Principal--Wenz and Redmon Elementary Schools. Accountable for all principal related job responsibilities for one 150 student intermediate grades three through five school and one 150 student primary grades kindergarten through grade two school for Paris Union School District No. 95. 1995-1998 Paris High School Social Studies Department Chairperson.  1989-1998 Paris High School Social Studies Teacher. both passed successful building referendums to build a new highschool for the Paris community. Member of the Yes to PCHS

referendum committee.

2010 Lead spokesperson for the PCHS Board of Education during contractnegotiations. Board and association of teachers agreed to a three yearcontract

2009 Authored a successful Enhancing Education Through Technologygrant application that was awarded to Paris Union School District No.95. Grant award was for $297,000. 

1998-2010 Prepared and presented the levy for Paris Union School District No.

95. to the Board of Education. 2004-present Prepared and filed the Paris Union School No. 95 E-rate application 2007 Lead spokesperson for the Board of Education during contract

negotiations. Board and association of teachers agreed to a four yearcontract. 

2005-2009 Headed the Paris Union School District No. 95 TechnologyCommittee. Authored the District’s technology plan. 

1996-1997 Designed and maintained the Paris Union School District #95

&2002-2009 Internet website. (http://www.paris95.k12.il.us) 2000 Planned, coordinated, as well as executed a successful campaign to

defeat the Property Tax Extension Limitation Law (PTELL) in EdgarCounty. 

2000 Wrote a successful Qualified Zone Academy Bond (QZAB)application that secured $500,000 of no interest loans for the district. 

1999 Member of Citizens for Better Schools. The committee successfullyplanned strategy, raised money, and campaigned to pass areferendum to build additions onto two elementary schools.

 1997-1998  Co-authored the District's successful application for the

Technology Innovation Program Grant. Created the staff development component of the grant application. 

ProfessionalAchievements & Recognitions2011 Secured a grant though ISBE and the University of Illinois to

implement the Illinois Career Clusters and career paths construct atParis Cooperative High School. PCHS is one of two schools selectedstatewide to participate in the grant. 

2009 Was asked to author a passage for the book “  Leading 21st Century

Schools,” by Lynne Shrum, professor and director of teachereducation in the College of Education and Human Development atGeorge Mason University. My passage on modeling the use of technology appears on page nine. 

2009 Prepared and participated in an informational campaign in which ateam of administrators made over 20 presentations for the communityabout the creation of a cooperative high school. The measure passedin November of 2009 creating the first cooperative high school inIllinois. 

2007 Authored Paris High School’s successful grant application to join the

Illinois High Schools that Work Network. Participation in thenetwork has brought various innovations to the school as well many

staff development opportunities. Grant awarded $80,000 to theschool. 2001 State Superintendent Max McGee sent Redmon and Vance schools a

congratulatory letter for the increased ISAT scores and achievementof its low- income students. 

1996 Eastern Illinois University Department of Educational Psychologyand Guidance Excellence in Teaching Award. 

1996, 1998 Who's Who Among American High School Teachers.
