RESPECT PRIDE SAFETY
Thank you to all those parents who took the time to give us
feedback on our Learning Talks. Overall the response was
extremely positive with parents telling us that they liked the
format, they were thankful of the time to talk about the
learning and their child (asking lots of questions) but would
like a little more time in the future.
Positive Response to New
Learning Talks Format
‘It’s Not OK To Be Away’ and ‘It’s Great If You’re Not Late’
‘It’s Not OK To Be Away’ and ‘It’s Great If You’re Not Late’
PRINCIPAL’S THOUGHTS
It was great to welcome all our students back to onsite learning this week, lots of happy smiling faces (and that
was the parents!). Seriously though having our children back at school in our learning environments has been
terrific, with all grades settling back into their normal routines very quickly. The students were excited to
spend time with their friends and our very capable Educators have loved getting back to their normal jobs.
Parent Survey results ‘Learning Talks’
Other important common responses from the Parent survey were:
Please allocate a little more time to talk more as many parents felt a little rushed
Having the goals prior to the meeting so parents were more prepared to help build goals and strategies
You really liked our approach of Visible Learning and lots of you would like to know more (we will send
some info out soon)
You really appreciated talking about our common learning areas (Maths, English) but would like the
chance to hear about other areas
Over all with an 89% positive response rate you rate the Learning Talks a “High Quality Experience”
Thanks again for participating and these talks will be scheduled again in Term 3 giving everyone the chance to
continue the conversation .
Safety at pick up time
We are fortunate at Ranfurly to have a supervised crossing at the front of our school. Please make sure that
students and parents use the crossing to stay safe. Students and parents are asked to use, and show good
example by using the school crossings at all times when coming to and from school.
At pick up time there are many places for your children to exit the school including; Out the front gate (Ontario
Ave), out the side gate (Olympic Way), out the back gate (parking in Upland Drive, Patricia Drive, Colonial Drive,
Anwyl Close and Ashwood Court).
Please remember the following:
A hook turn across the white lines at the front of the school is not permitted
Please remember that parent cars not permitted in the front car park unless the use of the disability park
is needed.
If we look out for each other, everyone is safe !
Parent access to site and social distancing.
Please member that COVID protocols are still in effect and it is important to practice social distancing when
picking up your child ensuring that we don’t have groups of people waiting at the exit points. We are asking
everyone to remember that these government restrictions are planned to keep us all safe and reduce the
possible transmission of COVID-19, this incudes when and how you access the school site.
If for any reason you need to come to school please make sure you call, email and check in at the office. We
must know who is on site at all times to ensure if needed we can trace all people at school.
Thanks for understanding that we don’t like this either but we must all do our bit to stay safe.
Dennis, & Mat
As part of work in our Y.C.D.I. lessons 4T discussed positive values that create good citizens for our school and community. Each student thought about the 2 values which they demonstrate most often and put a block for those in the jar. We noticed that 4T students are caring and responsible but felt that sometimes we didn’t do the right thing!
Students considered the values they show and the values they want to develop further.
Here are a couple of their responses.
I would like to be
more honest and
tell the truth more
often.
I would like to be
more responsible
by not blaming
others.
I would like to be
more caring and
will try to help
more
