My friend Bryce and I went to the library to check out a book…
How do you find out where a book you need is located in the library?- Go to any
computer in the library (1st, 2nd, 3rd floor) and look at the book catalog.
What we typed in…
Do you need to be specific when you type a topic that you need a book on?- You can be specific or as broad as you need to be. The
library is full of books on different topics…we decided to be broad and search for a book
on Florida.
ResultsAfter searching for the subject, what results pop up under it?- All books that have to do with the word or phrase you looked
up will show up under the search bar.
What to look for…
What do you look for after deciding on a book?- We chose
the first book that appeared after searching for “Florida”…after
deciding what book to get, you look for the call number to be
able to find where the book will be located in the library.
After choosing a
bookWhere do you go after deciding on the book?-
We headed up to the 2nd floor in search for our book. Under the call
numbers is the locator which said to head to the
2nd floor A-H stacks.
We found it! How did you find the
book?- We looked at the locator on the book catalog and went
searching on the 2nd floor. The call letters are at the top of the book but
also on the side facing out.
