SUBJECT:PARAPET CASTING(SITE:NEAR TECHNOPOLIS)

PARAPET :It is a structural member which is fix over the segment. As a technical view, parapet basically used for walk way for maintenance and surveillance and also used for cable transmission. Parapet also gives beautification of the structure.

MATERIAL USED IN PARAPET MAKING :Two different Dias of rods (8mm & 10mm) are used for parapet reinforcement and M40 grade of concrete is used for this structure.

Reinforcement of Parapet-

Steel of SAIL and RVNL is used as reinforcement,

PROTMAX inhibitor solution is used as an

anticorrosive treatment with cement slurry which is applied on the rod.

Bed-

Bed is that on which the parts of reinforcement are joined together by diamond binding. Bed is fabricated by M.S Plate, Rubber Pad & G.I member.

Concreting procedure -Parapets generally concreted on the bed, with a concrete

of particular w/c ratio required. In some case vibrator is

used at the time of concreting to ensure zero void inside.

Admixture-

In case of parapet casting STRUCTRU 201admixture is used for increasing the workability.

Parapet structure mainly consisting of three parts-(generally)

Walk Way (0.179 sq.m) Web(0.188 sq.m) Parapet Bottom(0.141 sq.m)

SUBJECT:SEGMENTCASTING

(SITE:NEAR MANI SQ) BASIC STEPS OF SEGMENT CASTING:1)ROD BENDING(according to drawing)2)Rod binding 3)Placing of rod cage into bed.4)Shuttering.5)Concreting and Curing.
