HYDROGEN AS AN OPPORTUNITY
Green Hydrogen must have a significant role in the Energy Transition:
Decarbonisation of the economy is creating new opportunities for the growth of low-emissions Hydrogen, beyond its current industrial uses.
Energy vectorStorage and transport of energy as (P2X):• Renewable gas• Liquid fuels
Electrical system resilienceNetwork stabilization• Seasonal storage• Isolated networks
Low emission industrial processes• Refining• Fertilizers• Metallurgy• Food
New final applications• Mobility• Industrial heat• Industrial / residential co-generation• New industrial processes

HYDROGEN AS AN OPPORTUNITY
Hydrogen demand will increase significantly:
New applications in the energy sector, storage of renewable energy and substitution of fossil fuels for electricity generation, heat and mobility.

HYDROGEN AS AN OPPORTUNITY
Will H2 be the key lever to fully decarbonize transport sector?Which H2 production technologies will be the winners? At what costs?Which are the main drivers for H2 cost evolution? How will be T&D infrastructure? Will NG infrastructures be adapted or will new infrastructures required?
Will H2 be enough competitive to be adopted by industrial sector?Which final energy uses will lead the carrier shift to H2?Which will be H2 weight in final energy consumption in 2030? And in 2050?
But ... there are relevant uncertainties regarding Green Hydrogen:

5 APPLICATIONS
DESCRIPTION: GAS-POWER-FUEL-INDUSTRIAL
The Hydrogen can be used with different purposes:
GAS: it is possible to mix the hydrogen with Natural Gas to reduce the amount used. The mix of Hydrogen and Natural Gas can by used for industrial and/or residential used and as support to the grid. (This is the Hythane ®, but the mix is very limited if you are planning to use the same gas pipe lines. Maximum 20% in volume which is 4% in energy content)
POWER: by using Fuel Cell, Engine or Gas Turbine, the hydrogen con be transformed into electricity for RES integration and/or offer grid services
FUEL: the hydrogen can by used on HRS (Hydrogen Refueling Station) for Fuel Cell electric vehicles and/or buses among other kind of electric vehicles
INDUSTRIAL: in some cases, the hydrogen is used directly at industrial level for example in refineries (but this is not an energetic application)
