Course Information Course InformationCourse DescriptionPlan to join the WVU Cancer Institute, WVU School of Medicine, WVU Medicine and the WVU Office of Con-tinuing Education for the 28th Annual Fall Cancer Con-ference. This knowledge-based conference is designed for physicians, physician assistants, pharmacists, nurs-es, and other health care providers interested in cancer treatment.

Course ObjectivesAt the conclusion of this course, participants should beable to:

• Discuss new approaches being translated into identification, diagnosis, and treatment of select cancers

• Identify the utility and limitations of new thera-peutic approaches for the treatment of cancer

• Discuss issues related to providing care for cancer survivors

• Describe utility and possible complications of CAR-T therapy.

• Identify the utility and limitations of Molecular profiling of various cancers.

• Identify the value of personalized approach to treatment of Gastrointestinal cancers.

• Identify the value of non-pharmacological approach to management of pain in cancer patients.

P.M. Objectives• Discuss the value of a multi-disciplinary ap-

proach for the management of head and neck cancers.

• Discuss current surgical and medical ap-proaches to the treatment of prostate cancer.

• Discuss the design and implementation of clinical trials.

• Identify available trials to patients in West Virginia.

• Discuss the role of radiotherapy in the treat-ment of prostate cancer.

The West Virginia University School of Pharmacy (WVUSoP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continu-ing pharmacy education (CPE). This

activity has been approved for up to 5.75 contact hours (0.575 CEU’s) of CPE. The morning activities (ACPE UAN 0072-9999-18-098-L01-P) from 8:15 to 11:45 a.m. are approved for 3.0 contact hours (0.30 CEU’s) of CPE.
