Region 10 Activities for 2007
IEEE R10 Meeting, Kota Kinabalu, 24th & 25th March 2007
Region 10 Asia-Pacific
1. Establishment of Life Member Groups in Sections
• Currently Region 10 has 650+ Life Members registered.
This is a reflection of the youth of this Region compared to other Regions, and is in effect about 1% of
the total Region membership. The average value of Life Members in Regions
worldwide is about 6% to 6.5% of total members.
IEEE R10 Meeting, Kota Kinabalu, 24th & 25th March 2007
Region 10 Asia-Pacific
Con’t …1. Establishment of Life Member Groups in Sections
• The Bombay and New South Wales Sections are the only Sections in Region 10
having Life Member Groups in their Sections. Using the criterion that a Section requires
only 4 Life Members to form a Life Members Group, there is the opportunity for about
26 Sections within Region 10 to form Life Member Groups.
IEEE R10 Meeting, Kota Kinabalu, 24th & 25th March 2007
Region 10 Asia-Pacific

Con’t …1. Establishment of Life Member Groups in Sections
•The initiative to establish Life Member Groups rests with each Section Committee.
The target number of Sections establishing Life Member Groups in 2007 is 7 being about
25% of the total potential.
IEEE R10 Meeting, Kota Kinabalu, 24th & 25th March 2007
Region 10 Asia-Pacific
2. Provide support to those Sections establishing Life member Groups
•When a Section establishes a Life Member Group, the RLMC will be available to provide
whatever assistance to that Section and their Life Member Co-ordinator as is
appropriate and possible. This could include advice regarding activities,
funding, etc.
IEEE R10 Meeting, Kota Kinabalu, 24th & 25th March 2007
Region 10 Asia-Pacific
3. Encourage Life Members and Members to actively support the Life Members Fund
