REFORMATION RAPBY: John Mark and Turner

This is the story of the Reformation times. Let’s sing about it now and don’t forget to rhyme.

King Henry was a ruler in this reformation time. He was usually known as brutal and rarely known as kind.

The Catholic Church would not let Henry get a divorce, so he created a new church with rules that he enforced.

Mary was a daughter of all mighty Henry now; she was wicked to all Protestants and set her Catholic vows.

Mary burned those Protestants at the stake, being very, very brutal and should’ve never got a date.

Johannes Gutenberg: a fairly friendly man. He worked with pen and ink and would lend a helping hand.

He eventually invented the printing press, well, only a version of it; everyone hated the rest.

This is the story of the Reformation times. Let’s sing about it now and don’t forget to rhyme.

The pope and Catholic Church were very different at the time. They started bending the rules and weren’t keeping in line.

The pope did not grant King Henry his divorce, which made Henry mad and full of remorse.

One thing the pope had added to the Catholic Churches ways were indulgences that made people rejoice and praise.

The indulgences would buy people forgiveness for their sins, but some people such as Luther wanted this to end.

Martin Luther posted theses; a total of 95. He went and nailed them to the Cathedral door. In doing this, he probably made his hands very sore.

These theses that he posted were a list of complaints. They focused on the Churches very peculiar ways.

SO…That was the story of the Reformation times. Thanks for singing with us and don’t ever forget to rhyme.
