MIT’S MONTHLY NEWS LETTER
Are humans better than animals?
If your answer is ‘Yes’ then I
would suggest on re-thinking
about the question! We humans
are superior to them in terms of
brain but inferior to them in
terms of its usage. We use our
powers to cut trees, to spread
pollution and to hurt others.
Animals use their powers to
spread love, satiety and affection.
If this difference is not enough
then let us ponder over some
deeper aspects. .It is an irony
that all the things that we do in
our daily life were meant to give
us happiness but majority of us
are unhappy today, instead of all
the comforts.
Our happiness is bounded with
getting a good job, a nice salary,
a big bungalow or a nice woman
and other different things. Their
happiness is not bounded, not
dependent on external factors,
they are happy within them-
selves. Well this sounds more
theoretical because we can
never be content with what we
have got. After all to grow in life,
we must keep consuming! This is
what we are taught in our
lives.Animals also do consume to
survive but we consume and
keep consuming. We have now
descended to a phase where
whatever is within our sight, we
consume that. This is what have
resulted in deforestation, global
warming, extinction of species
and other major matters of con-
cern which we are still neglecting
because our consumption is
much more important than all
these! Our never ending thirst
have led us today to consume
human emotions also. Today, if
one is seeing his profit then the
crumpling of people under his
own feet would be a secondary
matter which must always be
neglected because this is what
we need to grow in life! Pure
business it is!
Every individual has a thirst of his
own. We see the cases of rapes,
frauds and cheats every day in
our newspapers. This is what is
signifying our level of thirst and
our intensity of consumption. So
let us again reflect on the ques-
tion asked, Are humans better
than animals?
We are constantly destroying
their habitat, we are constantly
displacing them from their
homesand we are using them for
our selfish uses. We bind them
with ropes, we curse them when
they do not listen to us but still
we are better than them! Nelson
Mandela and Abraham Lincoln
eradicated slavery just to get
everyone’s attention shifted from
humans to animals! Slavery is not
abolished completely from our
world. It is still present in our
minds. We find it the most com-
fortable when the glass of water
is passed to us by some other
person and we do not have to
move from our position. Is this
different from slavery? More-
over, all of us want to achieve
happiness and that can only be
achieved by gaining more com-
forts of life which we try to grab
by increasing our number of
slaves.
In our relations, friendships and
everything we get satisfaction
only when we have enslaved the
other person! If one’s relative is
negating one’s point then he is
not the real relative. This is what
present scenario has become
and the intensity of these cases is
increasing day by day. All this is
simply because our definition of
happiness is wrong.
Let me put it more theoretically!
Happiness is not outside, it is
within us! But the practical im-
plementation of this line be-
comes much difficult that we are
only left with believing in what
we believed. The change of belief
system is the main step to ex-
perience happiness but that
change also requires lot of prac-
tice and checking on the self. We
try to ignore the things, we try
to surpass the situations and we
try, try and try! But we never
reach to the solution.
This is what makes animals dif-
ferent from us. They know the
solution and have it with them,
we have the solution but do not
know about that! Animals do not
search for the solution and we
keep wasting our time in search-
ing that which is already in front
of our eyes. So to be happy, just
be happy and nothing else. This
is what animals and this nature
try to teach us. We only have to
listen carefully.

GARMIN VARIA
TECHNO-FREAK Siddhant Sinha
According to government’s data of bicycle related roadways
deaths in 2016, the number of bicyclist deaths increased from
10.9 percent of total traffic fatalities to 14.5 percent of the
total. To overcome from this problem
Garmin Varia is invented which is a cycling
awareness product, also includes Varia
smart headlights and tail lights. When
paired with select Edge bike computers,
these bike lights help to create safer riding
conditions by adjusting the beam focus
point according to a bike’s speed and
matching brightness to changing light con-
ditions. As speed increases, the headlight
focuses further down the road to project
light to where it’s needed most and brings it closer as you slow.
As ambient light fades or gets brighter, both the headlight and
tail light adjust automatically when paired with a light-sensing
Edge 1000 bike computer.
It is a rear bike light with built-in radar, which tells you when a
car is approaching by showing the vehicle’s position on a han-
dlebar-mounted display. It detects cars from up to 140m away
and can track up to eight separate vehicles at once. Its specifi-
cations are: it weighs around 63.5g
(light); 28.5 (display) with Dimensions:
73 x 44 x 23mm (light); 60 x 34 x 19mm
(display) and Connectivity: ANT+.
The best part about this gadget is that
fitting the light takes about two minutes
and pairing the head unit and rear light,
again takes a couple of minutes. The bat-
tery backup of this gadget is around 4 to
6 hours. In nutshell we can say that the
best part about this gadget is that it identifies cars before you
can hear them, well built, easy to install, good battery life, USB
charging. By adopting/installing this gadget many bicycle riders
saved their lives and this can be the best gadget to be used by
every rider for enjoying a safe and wonderful ride.
1. To keep energy up and metabolism on overdrive, eat
breakfast and smaller meals through out the day,
rather than 3 big meals.
2. Have sufficient liquids through out the day to avoid
dehydration.
3. Avoid processed or packaged foods that contain too
much sugar. Excess sugar has been linked to energy
spikes followed by a crash while too much salt can
lead to high blood pressure and an increased risk of
strokes and heart diseases.
4. Vigorous exercise is important including the integra-
tion of some healthy activities such as instead of the
lift take the stairs and workouts at home such as
pushups, crunches and squats.
5. Create a sleep schedule and stick to it. Reading a
book, listening to relaxing music or taking a warm
shower can help in relaxing your body.

MOVIE REVIEW Shagufta Naaz
Film: Sarbjit
Cast: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Randeep Hooda, Richa Chadha, Darshan Kumaar.
Director: Omung Kumar
Released on: 20 May 2016
Genre: Biographical film, History, Musical, Drama.
Rating: 5/5
Plot:
Sarbjit Singh (Randeep Hooda) lives in a village near Punjab with his sister Dalbir Kaur (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), wife Sukhpreet
(Richa Chadda), and a father. Randeep Hooda one of the industry's most under-rated talents shines as Sarabjit to the extent that it
is possible given the limited writing. His physical transformation from a healthy, happy-go-lucky young farmer and wrestling
enthusiast to a scrawny, ragged, filthy prisoner is remarkable, a combination of his own scary dedication (he reportedly lost 18 kg
for the role), SFX and his makeup artist Renuka Pillai's ability to understand the requirements of the character. The situation is As
the zealous Pakistani lawyer Avais Sheikh who takes up Sarbjit's case he is a far cry from the heroine's soft-spoken, supportive hus-
band he played in Mary Kom (2014) or the frightfully evil fellow he was in last year's NH10.
Good films never fail to impress the audience. People come to the theatre to be entertained but somehow films like Sarbjit
affect the audience. On 2nd May, 2013 Sarbjit took his last breath but after this movie, Sarbjit has become immortal.

The most serene sight amidst the chaos of
Jaipur is the beautiful Jal Mahal (the Water
Palace). This low-rise symmetrical palace,
that once was a shooting lodge for the
Maharajah, appears to float in the centre of
Sagar Lake. The light sand colored stone
walls of the Jal Mahal Jaipur are at a stark
contrast to the deep blue of the waters of
the lake, while from the innards of the
palace lush foliage sprouts.
This majestic scene makes the Jal Mahal
Jaipur’s most photographed place. The Jal
Mahal is 4km to the north of Jaipur and is
located on the main Amer-Jaipur road.
Gondolas are used to reach the palace.
Tourists who view the Water Palace from
the banks of Lake Sagar are often unaware
of the technological and design achieve-
ments of the ancient palace. Though the
palace only appears to be a single story
there are actual a further four submerged levels. The solid
stone walls hold back millions of litres of water and the special
designed lime mortar has prevented water seepage for over
250 years.
The Jal Mahal was constructed from pink
sandstone and follows the classical Rajput
symmetrical style which is found throughout
of Rajasthan. Jaipur’s government has made a
tremendous effort to improve both the pal-
ace and the surrounding lake.
The architectures of Jal mahal lays in their
uniqueness of construction. The eye popping
aura of this architecture fascinates a large
number of visitors from all over. Surrounded
by a web of mysteries, the actual construc-
tion date of Jal Mahal remains unknown.
Likely to be built around 300 years ago, this
masterpiece is said to be the brain child of
the ruler of Amer but was later restored by
Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of the
Jaipur City. Spread across 60 meter square in
area, it is aptly located on the Amer Road
which is popularly known as the artery of the
tourists.
One must visit this place once in their lifetime.
