As Alvaro’s academic coordinator and professor, I found him to be a conscientious and hardworking student. ALVARO HERRERO PALOP attended my classes at undergraduate level in a course on English syntax in 2014, as an interchange student at my university. Besides being a serious, responsible and committed student, his intellectual performance is very good as well, which was revealed both by his participation in classes and his results in formal evaluations. Alvaro was also a monitor [teacher] in an English course I coordinate at university. Actually, this course is a pre-service program for undergraduate students, who teach English for real students under the supervision of professors. These students are called monitors. Due to his excellent academic skills, which he demonstrated when he was my student in the undergraduate course, Alvaro was accepted in this program – even though it is not typical of us to have foreign students in the program. In this activity, Alvaro proved to have good leadership skills and to be good at dealing with people and managing problems, including interpersonal ones. On top of all, I supervised Alvaro in his course completion assignment (a monograph) and, once again, he did not disappoint me. Alvaro’s performance in all those academic situations have led me to consider him an above the average student. He was attentive and dedicated student, always punctual and assiduous. His results in formal evaluations were excellent. If Alvaro comes to Rio de Janeiro again, I will be glad to have him in my department again, both/either as a (graduate) student and/or as a professional in any of the projects I coordinate.
