Ready To Face The World!
Good Bye 2018 - 19
From Trustee’s
Desk
ONCE UPON A TIME, READ PROJECT
WAS JUST A TRAINING ACTIVITY.
What does it take, to make a training activity realize it is more than just
training?
The answer is parents!
As part of our training program, we do interact with the parents of the
trainees. Many of such parents are single and/or daily wagers. In some cases,
the student is the only resort the parents are depending upon. Many are
happy in expressing that their children started speaking in English. They
shared that they are waiting for their son / daughter to complete their degree
and post exams they need to get employed suitably. It will change their family
life style and condition as well.
Keeping the interest of the parents, our team put lot of efforts this year and
enhanced its training approach to bring improvement in the placement.
During March and April, several campus interviews, job fairs and HR
Conclaves were arranged to enable the students get the job opportunity.
Several colleges appreciated our initiatives and the Letters of Placement Offer
from corporates were shared to the students.
We feel proud that we could do our mite to the parents’ expectation.
We wish our team for their tireless efforts put in this endeavour!

SUMMER CAMP -
THANJAVUR ZONE
SCHOOLS
M. Iswarya, Project Coordinator, EXCELLENCE AND REACH
Summer camp is not only for having fun.
The value of experience is more important.
It builds the child in a lot of positive ways.
It develops the child’s mental, physical and
social ability. It is the opportunity for them
to grow emotionally and socially.
Creativity Is As Important As Literacy
The purpose of conducting summer camp in schools is to engage the kids in
activities, which gives them both enjoyment and knowledge. Lot of
opportunities are given in the camp to learn and develop the skills like
Painting, Craftwork, Dance, etc. We provide, even platform for all kids to
explore and express their creativity in any form. The camp educates and
creates awareness among them in various fields like Environment, Health,
etc.,

We are feeling the scorching heat of the sun in this summer, April and May,
but our students are coming to our Basic Computer and Tally class conducted
at Thiruvalluvar College, Papanasam, with lots of energy and enthusiasm
despite the hot climate. These rural students who are from majors of History
and Tamil, found it very difficult to move the mouse in the beginning but now
this barrier is removed and they are brought out from the hesitation to work
with computer. One of the batch of students are learning MS office, which will
be very helpful for them to acquire a job. Totally 70 rural students are
undergoing this technical training.
SUMMER

attended by the students in a very enthusiastic way. This will be
very helpful to them in choosing their career in the future. The
certificates issued will be helpful for their future employment.

Our First summer camp program was conducted at Our Associate Valliyoor
Vivekanda School and the program called “Soon Youth” was successfully held
from 8th to 13th April 2019 in that School.
The motive of this program is to make the students mingle with everyone
in the team, to know each other, to make new friends, to coordinate with every

strengthen the professional development of
the faculty members who deal directly with
students.

MEANINGFUL
EMPLOYMENT CENTRE
FOUNDATION ‘S NEW
AVTAR
Meaningful Employment Centre is based on the concept, if the mountain
will not come to Mulla, then Mulla must go to the mountain.
Our past four years of experience in conducting employability skill training at
various places for the rural students, have made our team to understand that,
many talented human resources are available at rural places. Corporate
selects the best talent in the interview conducted at rural colleges but the
candidate’s reluctance to relocate to other cities, is the major drawback in
exposing their skills at corporate level.
Our MEC concept will bridge this gap and make the rural candidates work for
corporate by being at their home towns. Meaningful Employment Centres -
Centre of Excellence is currently set up at Thanjavur and Tirunelveli zones to
enhance the employment opportunities at these locations in collaboration with
other likeminded corporate/concerns. The students will be trained to carry out
corporate’s back office activities at these centres and receive the salary from
the corporates. The corporates will also be benefitted through cost effective
man power.
