and a record performance spanning enterprise, big data, and cloud applications.

According to the vendor the new SPARC M7 processor-based systems, including the Oracle SuperCluster M7 engineered system and SPARC T7 and M7 servers, are designed to seamlessly integrate with existing infrastructure and in-clude fully integrated virtualisation and management for cloud.

The company said all existing commercial and custom appli-cations will run on SPARC M7 systems unchanged with signifi cant improvements in security, effi cien-cy, and performance. In addition, SPARC M7 is an open platform that developers can utilise to create new software that takes advantage of Se-curity in Silicon and SQL in Silicon capabilities.

“Until now, no computing plat-form has been able to tackle security without signifi cantly impacting application performance and effi -ciency,” said John Fowler, Executive Vice President, Systems, Oracle. “Today Oracle is delivering break-through technology for memory intrusion protection and encryption, while accelerating in-memory ana-lytics, databases and Java. Oracle’s SPARC T7 and M7 systems and Oracle SuperCluster M7 are starting a new era in delivering secure com-

puting while increasing effi ciency.”Matthew Eastwood, Senior Vice

President, Enterprise Infrastructure and Data Centre Group, IDC. “Ora-cle’s core investments in SPARC M7 are delivering breakthrough capa-bilities for information security, da-tabase effi ciency, and performance that go beyond enterprise work-loads to big data and cloud. This is the most signifi cant advancement in SPARC microprocessor and systems design in the last decade.”

Oracle said the new SPARC M7 processor is the design centre of the new line of SPARC M7 systems that scale from 32 to 512 cores, 256 to 4,096 threads and up to 8 TB of memory. Oracle’s SPARC M7 chip is a 4.1 GHz 32-core/256-thread processor that addresses the most demanding workloads with a balanced high performance design across all factors of memory, IO, and scalability. In addition, Oracle has improved every other aspect of the design compared to previous generation designs resulting in in-creased single-thread performance and reduced latency.

The company added that its new SPARC M7 systems deliver out-standing security and performance as demonstrated by a new world record result for the SPECjEnter-prise2010 benchmark for database and Java.

journey and enhance their ability to propose new related business solutions.

Redington Value is committed to their partners helping them trans-form to the cloud buzz and also en-able them in providing consulting, professional services and support. This will assist the partner in retain-ing their clientele, adopt recurring revenue streams, increase yield per customer and also derive predict-able revenue model. In the coming

time and unlike the conventional pitch towards IT solutions, partners will be able to interact and transact with the functional heads at clients, helping them with business agility & competitiveness, operational effi -ciencies, innovation and faster time to market on their products and services to their end customers.

Redington Value caters to the MEA markets and will be able to extend most of the cloud offerings across 27 markets in Middle East,

Turkey, Africa and CIS countries via their partner eco system. Redington is the early adopter of this model and will continue to on-board more cloud offerings in the months to come. The existing vendors and many new cloud vendors and partners are eager to mount their offerings on the RedCloud and get themselves recognized and subscribed in the quickest and most effective way.

Regional distributor Redington

Value Distribution and storage solu-

tions vendor EMC have unveiled

the ELP reseller rebate scheme for

2016.

Under the rebate scheme, Red-

ington Value Distribution and EMC

is targeting channel partners with

the EMC Data Domain DD2200, a

deduplication appliance for backup

and archive data that is designed for

small to midrange data centres.

The rebate scheme according to

Redington Value Distribution, is

open to new and existing partners

not selling ELP products in 2014,

2015 and 2016.

According to Redington, the

DD2200 has been confi gured for

your small data centre or remote

offi ce, this bundle includes EMC

Data Domain Boost and EMC Data

Domain Replicator software. DD

Boost speeds backups up to 50% by

distributing parts of the deduplica-

tion process to the backup server

or application client. DD Replicator replicates data from remote loca-tions to a central site. Only deduped and compressed data travels over your network, which reduces the bandwidth needed by up to 99%.

New resellers will receive $300 for every entry level unit sold in Q2 2016 and an additional $100 for adding a Brocade switch.

For existing ELP partners they will get $300 for every entry level unit sold in Q2 2016:

Dharshana K, General Manag-er - VCG at Redington Value, said partners must sell a minimum of two ELP units in Q2 2016 in order to claim the rebate.

For example, said Dharshana K an existing ELP partner in Q2 2016 will for one ELP unit sold not be eligible for any rebate but if two units are

sold, the partner will get $600 and three units will see the partner receive a $900 rebate.

Dharshana K said how it works, backend rebate payments will be made quarterly together. In addition, he added that the backend rebate will be paid to a company, not to a person and for each unit sold the partner will receive USD 1000 back-end rebates.

According to Dharshana K, the SKUs eligible for rebate include DPS for Backup 1-10TB: 456-105-958 and DPS for Backup 10-50TB: 456-105-080. The minimum capacity order eligible for the rebate is 5TB and it includes Avamar, NetWorker, Data Protection Advisor, DP Search, CloudBoost, DD Boost for enterprise apps and protection for all consump-tion models, cloud-enabled.

Avaya introduces its concept of Digital Transformation-as-a-Service – SmartDXaaS – to emerging mar-kets, with the company highlighting its range of cloud-based solutions and professional services, designed to help organisations achieve their digital transformation objectives more easily and cost-effectively, at the annual Avaya Technology Forum held in Dubai recently.

The fl agship technology event, the

latest round in a series that will move on to Ireland and the US, will also see Avaya host a complete “Smart City” ecosystem in Dubai, with re-al-world demonstrations from public and private-sector organisations.

While enterprise CEOs are increasingly placing digital trans-formation at the centre of their corporate strategies, organisations need trusted partners that can help them navigate today’s uncertain environments, while preparing for the challenges of tomorrow. Accord-ing to IDC, by 2018 70% of silo-ed digital transformation initiatives will fail due to insuffi cient collaboration, integration, sourcing or project management, while by 2020 more than 30% of existing IT vendors will not survive in their current forms, requiring customers to realign their preferred vendor relationships.
