RECORDER BELT PROGRAM
1. FOR EVERY SONG YOU LEARN TO PLAY AND PLAY SUCCESSFULLY, YOU EARN A DIFFERENT COLORED BELT TO TIE ONTO YOUR RECORDER!
2. The more you practice at home, the faster you make progress toward the ultimate goal- the Master Belt!
3. The songs are organized from easiest to hardest and do not have written notation in this powerpoint; however in class we will analyze actual music notation.
4. Each student is expected to work about 5 minutes daily at home on their own and will be tested to determine playing progress.

• Touch your tongue behind your front teeth to separate notes (doo doo doo)- don’t use puffs of breath (whoo whoo whoo). This is called TONGUING THE NOTES.

MASTER BELT INFO.ONCE YOU ACHIEVE BLACK BELT,
Mrs. Greggs will assign you one song from a music book that you must learn completely on your own. This includes counting the rhythm and playing the correct pitches on the staff without her help.
If you are able to play the song correctly, you earn your braided cord and may move on to study alto recorder!
![Page 37: RECORDER MADNESS](https://reader036.vdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022081505/568157ad550346895dc539d8/html5/thumbnails/37.jpg)
