    Maria Parra

Maria Parra has been working as a Direct Support Provider for The Center for Family Support

since September 2018 and has cultivated relationships built on trust and respect with our ser-

vice recipients during this time. She is always making her best effort to satisfy the service

recipient's needs in order to make a difference in their lives.

I would like to nominate Maria for her loyalty to the families that she works with, her job per-

    formance, and her outstanding attendance.

Maria continuously displays the following competency areas:

Competency Area L: Education, Training and Self-Development Activities.

Maria constantly demonstrates that she has the skills needed to perform her duties. She will

always corroborate with her supervisor if she feels that any new policy or protocol is unclear.

This enables her to adhere to best practices.

Mrs. Parra is very involved in attending and participating in all of her required CFS train-

ings. She is never late in completing her tasks.

Competency Area P: Supporting Health and Wellness.

Maria’s current service recipient has high cholesterol and has problems with his weight. She is

helping him by promoting a healthy diet, accompanying him to the gym and also including

some swimming into his routine. These steps that she has taken have improved her service re-

    cipient’s quality of life.

Mrs. Parra takes part in nutritious meal planning and in the preparation, storage and han-

dling of food. She instructs service recipients on how to em-

ploy healthy and hygienic techniques when preparing meals.
