    Fire awed the early romans, as it did the greeks and

    others. The Romans believed in a goddes of fired called

    vesta, and they had a sacred temple of fire tended by

    four femalesthe vestal virgins- who were selected

    while they were children and were expected to servethirty years. During their service they were expected to

    remain virgins, for the romans believed that to please the

    gods, the women who were unmarried and not trying to

    bear children should remain chaste

    gods the king had imprisoned, and he had her twins put

    afloat in a basket on the Tiber River. The two boys,

    but the river receded and the basket carrying the boys

    came to rest on the rivers bank, where a shepherd

    Chronological Order

    One of the Vestal Virgin got pregnant and bore two boys,Romulus and Remus

    The king put the boys afloat in the basket in order to put

    things right with the goods

    Instead of drowned, the boys came to rest on the riversbank and a shepherd found them

    After growing up Remus and Romulus kill their uncle, the

    king to get revenge.

    The boys then restored to the throne and founded Rome Then Remus and Romulus quarreled to become Romes

    first king

    Romulus, after a long reign, vanished into a

    Avestal Virgin happened to the roman king sister. The

    king imprisoned her because she broke a sacred law.

    Her twins Romulus and Remus, were drowned.Fortunately, a shepherd found them. When Romulus and

    remus grew up, they killed the king and made their

    grandfather as his successor. They decided rome as

    their kingdom.

    disagreed but the Sabines manage to reconcile their
