Dear Students, Thank you for a very productive semester. We have had many successful events this semester including the launch of the Canary Wharf facility that we will be using to run our Canary Wharf Programme, as well as other events. We were also happy to have a very enlightening series on Islamic Finance and Banking chaired by the Director of the Islamic Finance and Banking Centre, Dr. Gaffar Khalid. This series was capped with the donation of a book collection on Is- lamic Finance and Banking for the library, donated by the Islamic Development Bank in Saudi Arabia. We also ran a number of events through the Noon Centre for Equality and Diversity, including the Women in the Boardroom Se- ries. We hosted a special programme for our partners from Sanda University in China and also had a visit by the Presi- dent of ESBM in Sao Paulo Brazil, J. Roberto Whitaker Penteado. We also had President Sun and Dean Wei from SI- BEU in Shanghai China for a visit. All of these partnerships are a testament to our commitment to global business education. We are also proud of our Elite Students, Global Scholars and Leadership Certificate earners who are engaging with the School and Business Community in important ways. I look forward to seeing more of our students engage both in and outside the classroom through all our mentoring, internship and study abroad opportunities. Mark Watson continues to develop our offerings for employability and is located in the Noon Centre for Equality and Diversity on the 2nd floor of the Knowledge Dock. We as a School are very serious about raising our educational offerings. We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of those of you who are finishing your degrees this semester at commencement this fall. Enjoy the summer months and make your time away from University interest- ing. Global Scholars ready to take off this week! Students enrolled in the Global Scholars Programme will be flying out around the globe, over the course of this week and next week thanks to the generosity of Lord Noon and the Noon Centre. China, Malaysia, Bahrain, Brazil, India and Spain will be homes to students for a week as they delve deeper into work with sustainable social enterprise projects in these locations. The programme was successfully piloted last year, with two groups of students working on public health projects in Kenya and India and has grown tremendously this year, as a project funded by the Noon Centre for Equality and Di- versity in Business. This year, nine groups of over ninety students will not only benefit from a fantastic cross-cultural experience, but will make a genuine difference in the lives of others. We are looking forward to hearing more about their trips when they return. Safe journey to our travellers!
