Description: To structurally life-extend and operationally upgrade 14
CP140 Aurora aircraft in order to support operations to
2030. Blocks I and II upgraded legacy and communications
and navigation systems. Block III and ALSEP are
underway and will upgrade all mission and sensor systems
concurrent with structural life extension. Block IV will add a
wideband SATCOM capability as well as Link 16 and a self-
protection suite.
Current Stage: Implementation
CH146 Griffon
Limited Life Extension (GLLE)
Description:
To extend CH146 operating life to 2030+
through the replacement of obsolete avionics,
instrumentation and displays with an integrated
digital systems architecture.

Project Milestones
Definition 2020
Contract Award 2022
Description:
This project will replace the existing fleet capability,
including strategic airlift, air-to-air refuelling and VIP
transport after a potential life extension. The platform
will provide air-to-air refuelling for both domestic and
expeditionary coalition operations, while complementing
the strategic airlift capabilities of the CC-177 fleet.
Current Stage: Identification

Future Aircrew Training (FAcT)
Current Situation: Options Analysis
Description:
Address the modernization/optimization of the ab initio Pilot,
ACSO and AES Op training to Wings Standard. FAcT is to
implement a relevant, flexible, effective and affordable
solution which modernizes/optimizes the training system to
meet current and future CAF requirements. The solution
must continue and improve upon the training currently
provided by the expiring NFTC and CFTS services contracts
as well as the training currently conducted at 402 Squadron.
