The majority of your time should be spent working your personal business. In fact your unit size may dictate approximately how much time you should spend as a Sales Director each week. Basically if your unit size is less than 50, your primary focus should be your personal business. Like Mary Kay said, "You should be the one bringing a new recruit every week to your sales meeting. You should be the one who has higher sales." In a nutshell, you should consistently focus on Income Producing Activities (IPAs). IPAs can help you to build upon the momentum you had when you debuted and help you to get on track for achieving the com-pany challenges and rewards. Why not look at the IPA form on InTouch and determine if your IPAs match your goal? In other words, are you doing what needs to be done to reach your goals? One of the best ways to reach any goal is to increase your customer base. Have you asked your current customers for referrals? Why not make some calls or send some emails today and ask your customers who they know that might benefit from your services? This could be an incredible month!

In 1963 when the company opened
its doors, I refused to listen to those
negative people who were predicting
failure. My accountant told me that
”there were not enough cents in the
dollar” for the commission schedule
we were proposing.
My attorney wrote to Washington for a pamphlet listing all the
cosmetic companies that had gone bankrupt that year. During our
second month in business a California
cosmetics manufacturer made me an
offer: “Mary Kay, I’ll pay you a token
amount for your formulas, because
you’re never going to make it” Other
financial “experts” insisted that we
couldn’t run a direct-sales company
without extending a line of credit to
our representatives.
The soothsayers prophesied that I was
doomed to failure. However, I was deter-
mined to prove them wrong. The odds
were against me, and I’ll readily admit that
there were many things I didn’t know—but
I did know four things for certain:
People will support that which they
help to create.
In this great country there is no limit
to what an individual can accomplish.
If given the opportunity, women are
capable of superior performance.
I was will to work long, hard hours to
implement my convictions.
And the rest,
as they say is “her” story.
Happy 51st Anniversary
