Entering RAIN TLCVentura County residents who are currently homeless and agree to obtain employment may be eligible to enter RAIN TLC. RAIN TLC provides a safe place by supporting a clean and sober living environment where residents participate in a mandatory savings program to help them establish financial stability. To ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff, a background check and a tuberculosis clearance are required before entry.

RAIN Transitional Living CenterRAIN Transitional Living Center (TLC) is operated by the County of Ventura, Human Services Agency. Its mission is to strengthen families, promote self-sufficiency, and support safety, health and well-being.RAIN TLC provides temporary housing and services to families with children under the age of 18 years old and individuals transitioning from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Located in Camarillo, the setting includes:

• Private rooms • Shared living spaces such as bathrooms, dining area and living room• Nutritious meals

Clients work with a social worker in setting goals leading towards independence and housing stability.

Services that Promote Self-Sufficiency In addition to supportive case management, RAIN TLC offers:

• Transportation to and from work • On-site therapists• Housing assistance • Parenting classes• Credit counseling • Enrichment programs for children• Money management • Life skills courses• Relapse prevention • Employment assistance

Achieving Self-Sufficiency As residents begin their path to independence they are given the opportunity to build on their strengths and learn new skills. The building blocks they will learn prepare them for success as they move into rental housing. Residents at RAIN TLC are motivated to meet their goal for economic stability by finding and obtaining employment. The staff at RAIN TLC provide the support needed to help residents achieve self-sufficiency.
