Welcome to RaceView Thank you for purchasing a subscription to RaceView. RaceView is a one-of-a-kind product that provides a unique and complete NASCAR viewing experience for fans. With RaceView you can watch who you want, when you want, and how you want. RaceView allows you to watch your favorite driver no matter where he is in the field as well as listen to communication with his spotters and crew chief. Finally, you can pause and rewind live action just like a DVR system. Catching highlights and drivers’ reactions is as easy as rewinding, selecting a lap, and choosing a driver.

Program Guide

The first thing that you will see when starting RaceView is the Program Guide. On the left side is the track information for the upcoming race. On the right side are two tabs that let you choose between replay races and upcoming races. Click on the replay tab to watch a replay race, or click the upcoming races tab to select a pending race. The lower right area contains a set of drop down menus that allow you to select default settings for when the race begins. You can pre-select your driver, audio source, and camera angle.

Transport Controls The transport controls operate the DVR functions of the RaceView application. You can pause, rewind, and fast forward through a race. You can also quickly switch back to live action.

From left to right: Pause Freezes the race action Rewind Rewinds one lap Fast Forward Advances one lap Live button Resumes live action when watching a live race Slider Grab the slider to move to a particular part of the race

Experience Controls The experience controls let you customize your NASCAR race viewing experience by directing what you can see and hear in the application.

Here are the experience buttons from left to right: Driver view drop down Use this menu to select the driver you wish to watch. Sync Button Use this button to tie audio to your selected car. If you change

the selected car when “sync” is selected, the selected audio changes to that car. The reverse is not true – if you have “sync” selected and change the audio, you will not change the selected car.

Camera angle buttons These buttons determine the view of the camera. The application defaults to top view when a car is in the pit.

Zoom buttons Use these buttons to zoom in and out of the action in the render window. You can also use the “I” and “O” keys on the keyboard to zoom in and out.

Audio Selection To choose an audio source, activate the AUDIO Commander and select your audio preference. Note: When listening to the driver’s channel, some drivers and teams talk more than others so you may experience long periods of silence.

There are five audio choices: Drivers Selects a specific driver and team Scan All Drivers Scans all driver audio channels for active team chatter Officials Channel Listen in on the NASCAR officials Radio Broadcast The current race’s radio broadcast, provided by MRN Mute Turn off audio Note: The audio in RaceView is delayed several seconds by NASCAR to edit out the occasional “colorful” language from the drivers, crew chiefs, and spotters.

Lap-by-Lap Tab This feature allows users to tour the race highlights using the Lap-by-Lap commentary feed imported from the NASCAR.com website. The lap-by-lap tab has two main components: a navigation ruler and a commentary window. The ruler allows you to navigate through the race while browsing the highlight entries in the commentary window. You can watch a highlight by either clicking on the highlighted driver’s name in the commentary window or by clicking on the play button and then rewinding/fast-forwarding to your chosen highlight.

The Ruler The ruler allows you to browse through the race and easily spot flag changes and incidents called out by the commentary in the text window. The red triangles at the bottom of the ruler indicate laps with commentary entries. There are five ways to move the ruler: Click and drag Scroll Wheel

Start Arrow End/Live Arrow Spyglass Arrow

Click and Drag: You can move the ruler by clicking and dragging in the green or yellow areas of the ruler. As you drag the ruler, the lap number in the spyglass will change along with the highlight entries in the commentary window. When you click and drag, you can select any lap in the race. Scroll Wheel: Using the scroll wheel on your mouse will move the ruler left or right and scroll the text in the commentary window (not available on Macintosh computers). Start Arrow: You can move the ruler to the start of the race by clicking this arrow.

End/Live Arrows: During a race, the Live button moves the ruler to the current lap. When watching a replay race, the End button moves the ruler to the end of the race.

Spyglass Arrows: The blue arrows on either side of the Spyglass advance the ruler to the next lap with a highlight entry.

Viewing a Highlight: When you navigate to a lap or highlight that you want to replay, you have two options: Press the play button

Click a driver name that’s highlighted and underlined in blue

Play Button: When you press the play button, the viewer window jumps to a few seconds before the lap number in the spyglass. You will pick up the race at that lap with your current watched driver.

You can click the play button on any lap (the lap doesn’t have to have a highlight entry). Click the driver name: When you click a highlighted driver name in a highlight entry, the viewer window jumps to approximately 30 seconds before the lap number associated with the highlight. Unlike the play button, the watched driver changes to the selected driver in the highlight.

Pit Stats Tab The pit stats tab provides the complete pit stop data for the currently watched driver. The driver information will change if you switch the watched driver in the viewer. You can change the driver data shown independently of the viewer by using the dropdown menu above the car image in the window.

The Driver Information Area The driver information area provides current race data on the selected driver. The left side of the area shows where your selected driver is in relation to the lead car. The right side of the area shows the driver’s picture, current race position, and time behind the leader. The Tachometer, Speedometer, Brake, and Throttle meters tell you exactly what is currently happening in the car. In the example below, Tony Stewart is approaching the first turn 6.12 seconds behind the race leader, Kyle Busch in the 18 car. Stewart is approaching the first turn at 162 miles per hour at full throttle, and the engine is turning at 7200 Revolutions per Minute.
