    1. In this world there is a time to time improvement in

    the electronics field.One such improvement in this

    field is"RACE TRACK NANOMAGNETIC MEMORY

    replacing the present day solid state HARD DISKDRIVES and FLASHMEMORIES.

    2. This can bring a new revolution with its extraordinaryfeatures like:

    Great improvement in storage capacity of the systemwhen compare to the normal HDD and FLASH

    memories .

    Decrease in the cost per GB of memory

    This new class of memory named "racetrack" is internally built

    with a u-shaped nanomagnetic wire through which a polarized

    electric current is made to slide orrace" through tiny magneticpatterns around the nanowire "track," where the device can read

    and write data in less than a nanosecond.

    Applications:-

    1. Significant role in high density datastorage,microelectronics, and Bio-medical applications etc.

    2. This project will bring together expertises in several

    different disciplines and will carry out collaborative researcharea .

    3.Particularly attractive for memory storage. An mp3 playercan store 3500 movies and 500000 songs.

    4.Applications in magnetic sensors.

    5.Potenially used in quantum computing where electron spinwould represent a bit (called qubit ) of information.

    leading to devices and applications that nobody has imagined yet."

    Due to this extraordinary features it replaces the present flash and hard

    disk memory

    Its cheapercompared to other memory devices existing today .

    As there are no moving parts the power consumption is less when

    compared to other devices which comprises of movable parts.

    The life time of device is considerably very long when compared to

    other devices
