• A lot can represent a quantity of an item that shares the same specifications, one or more receipts from the same vendor, or whatever you choose. ( 將料件依照某些特性分成批次 )

• You can divide each lot into child lots that can reflect whatever characteristics you choose for items within the lot ( 一個批次可再細為子批 )

• A child lot is a subdivision of a lot that you can use if you produce a lot over a period of time, but still want to group the material as a single lot.

Lot generation (Coding Rule) 批號產生編碼方式

批號產生的規則由 Organization Parameter 表單中的 3 個欄位決定 : Prefix ，Zero Pad Suffix ，及 Total

Length 。


Child lot generation control (1)子批號產生方式

Child Generation: 來設定子批量控管的編碼方式•Parent: 系統使用父批號的數列(Sequence) 來產子批量的編號。例如，父批量的編號為 P1 ，則第一個子批量為 P2 。•Parent + Child: Parent+Child: 父批量的編號用做為前置字串，系統會用另一個數列來產生新的數字，並加在前項前置字串的後面，形成一個子批量的編號。例如，父批量的編號為 P1 ，則第一個子批量可能為 P1-1 。


Child lot generation control (1)子批號產生方式

Format Validation: 使用此選項來確保手動輸入的批號符合預先定義的命名慣例。批號的命名格式由 Prefix, Zero Pad Suffix, 及 Total Length 等 3 個欄位決定。

Copy Lot Attributes: 勾選此選項確保子批量會繼承父批量的所有屬性。若不勾選，則新的子批量不會繼承。對於一個批量，批量屬性是用來提供說明的額外欄位，例如該批量的原產地 (Country of Origin) 或者是有效日期 (Best By Date) 。

Lot Control- Coding Rules(Item Attributes)

• Lot control (Full Control)– Starting prefix

– Maturity Days: 設定批量的熟成天數。若不輸入此欄位值，系統預計在建立批量時，此批量便是在熟成的狀態。若有輸入天數，則預設的批量熟成日期 = 批量建立日期 + 熟成天數

– Hold days: 設定批量在釋出使用前所保留的天數。如果不輸入此欄位值，系統假設此批量在建立時便立即可用。若有輸入天數，則該批量的釋出可用日期 = 批量建立日期 + 保留天數。

Lot Control- Lot Expiration (Shelf Life)(1)(Item Attributes)

Control 欄位 :•No Control: 此料件不做有效期限管控•Shelf Life Days: 批量的有效天數是透過 Shelf Life Days 欄位來設定。批量的有效日期 = 批量建立日期 + Shelf life days 。•User Defines: 當對每一批量進行收貨時，由使用者指定到期日。在此設定之下，當使用過期的批量時，系統進行警告但不會禁止使用此批量。



Retest Interval 欄位 :

用來設定在批量建立後，對該批量進行測試是否過期的間隔時間。系統計算預計的批量的重測日期 = 批量建立日期 + Retest Interval 。



• 當儲存的批量過期後，系統可以通知對於過期批量應採取的動作及進行動作的日期。

• Expiration Action Interval: 系統計算採取處理動作的日期 = 批量到期日 + Expiration Action Interval 。

• Expiration Action: 使用欄位 Expiration Action 來設定預設的到期後處理動作代碼。

• The expiration date controls the availability of the lot for transacting and planning purposes.

• An expired lot:– For Replenishment ( 對於補貨的使用 ) :

— Is not considered as on-hand supply when you are performing min-max, reorder point, or MRP planning calculations.

– For Reservation ( 對於預留的使用 ):— Cannot be reserved for a date beyond the expiration date.

– For Txn and On-hand quantity ( 交易及在手數量 ):— Can be transacted and is included in on-hand quantities.— Is included in all inquiries and reports, including inventory valuation

– For counting ( 盤點 )— Is included in a cycle count ( 週期盤點 ) and count entry and

Assign Lot number批號的產生

Generate Lot Numbers:•You can either use the lot master to generate new lot numbers

•Or assign lot numbers when you perform transactions.

Origination type of a lot Number ( 批號的來源型態，用以辨識批號產生的方式 ):

•When you create the lot, the system determines the lot origination type.

•If you create the lot on the lot master, the origination type is lot master. If you generate the lot while performing a transaction, the origination type is Inventory.

Updating Lot control options Notes( 其它批號產生的注意事項 )

• You can update lot control options for an item if it has zero on hand quantity.

• In addition, you cannot change lot control when there open internal orders or inter-org intransit shipments exist.

• If you generate a lot number in the organization level, then system will not be able to generate other lot numbers using the settings in the item level.

• However, you STILL can ENTER you lot number.

Lot Transaction Purging ( 清除批次的交易記錄 )

• You can purge all lot transaction information from your current organization. The transactions must be in closed accounting periods.

• Purging lot transactions eliminates information used in lot reports and inquiries.


Cycle Counts Under Lot Control ( 在批次管控下週期盤點的影響 )

• The cycle count listing includes the lot numbers of the items to be cycle counted. ( 在週期盤點時，會同時將料件批號顯示在週期盤點清單中 )

• You must assign lot numbers to all items under lot control for which you enter counts. ( 在輸入盤點數量時，必須也輸入所盤點的批號 )

• If there is a difference between the cycle count quantity and the system on-hand quantity, Oracle Inventory adjusts the item quantity in that lot. ( 如果盤點數量和系統數量有不一致，系統會調整該批量下的數量。 )


Physical Inventory Under Lot Control( 在批次管控下週期盤點的影響 )

• Oracle Inventory includes the lot numbers of the items to count in your physical inventory when generating tags. ( 在產生盤點標籤卡時，系統會將批號資訊也顯示在標籤卡上。 )

• You must assign lot numbers to all items under lot control for which you enter counts in the Physical Inventory Tag Counts window. ( 在輸入盤點數量時，必須也輸入所盤點的批號 )

Serial Controlled Items

• A serial number is an alphanumeric piece of information you assign to an individual unit of an item.

• You use serial numbers to track individual item units. • One serial number is assigned to per unit of an item ( 一個料件一個序號 )• Serial number control is a system technique for enforcing the use of serial numbers

during a material transaction. ( 物料交易時需指定料件的序號 )• You can use serial numbers to track items over which you want to maintain very tight

• The process of generating serial numbers does not assign serial numbers to units in inventory, but reserves specific serial numbers for an item, for later use. ( 先產生號碼供日使用 )

• When you run the serial generation program, if you have the same serial prefix number across organizations, the concurrent program searches across the organizations, and generates serial numbers using the highest start number across the organizations. ( 以所有存貨組織內最大的序號為主，產生下一個序號 )

Lot and Serial Reports

Report Description

Lot Transaction Register You can use this report to audit lot transactions for a specified time interval, for a range of dates, for ranges of items or categories, of for other criteria.

Expired Lots Report You use this report to isolate lots that are about to expire, find expired lots, and find serials assigned to expired lots.

Serial Number Transaction Register You can use this report to audit serial number transactions for a specified time interval, location or group of locations, reason or group of reasons, or other criteria.

Report Description

Lot Inventory Report This reports provides you with an overview of item lots, quantities, and lot statuses in all or the selected subinventories and locators within the organization.

Lot Master Report This report provides you with an overview of the information you set up in the lot master. You can run this report for a specific item, or all items in the organization

Grade History Change Report This report enables you to view all of the grade changes made during a given time period for a particular item

within an organization.　


Lot and Serial Reports (Cont)

Report Description

Serial Number Detail Report Use the Serial Number Detail report to print information about current serialized units of inventory items.

Vendor Lot Trace Report The vendor lot trace report enables you to view the lot number, and associated vendor lot number for an item.


Profile Options

Profile Option Description

INV:Genealogy Prefix or Suffix You use this to determine if and how the item number is displayed on the Object Genealogy form.

INV: Target Preferred Grade Determines whether data for picking and reservations must be filtered to match the preferred grade that is defined on the order line.

INV: Genealogy Delimited Allows you to pick the character that appears between the item name and lot number in the genealogy tree.

INV: Validate Returned Lot This profile option determines whether a component lot that is returned from WIP should be validated against lots that are issued to the same job.

Profile Option Description

INV: Validate Returned Serial This profile option determines whether component serials that are returned from WIP should be validated against serials that are issued to the same job.

INV: Restrict Receipt of Serials Indicates whether the system performs two validation checks for serial numbers Oracle Work in Process uses. This profile option also indicates if you can re-receive a serial number via an RMA receipt for an item with serial control set at sales order issue.


Implementation Considerations

• Do you need to implement lot control for an item?

• Does the lot expire?

• Do you need to retest the when it expires?

• Do you need to perform a specific action when the lot expires?

• Do you consume an item over time and need to implement child lot control?

• Do you need to pre-generate lots or can you generate lots during transactions?

• Do your lots have specific grades?


Implementation Considerations (Cont)

• Do you need to track individual instances of each item?

• Do you want to predefine serial numbers, track them at inventory receipt, or at sales order issue?

• Do you want serials to be unique within items, within an organization, or across all organizations?
