When to Apply
‐ Students should allow time for the process

Step 3: Collecting Information from Students
1. A signed application form (F Form) Please always download the most updated version of the application form from this link http://cms.qut.edu.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0016/10159/f-form.pdf
2. Original copy of students’ IELTS or TOFEL result For students who have never taken an IELTS or TOFEL exam in the past and do not wish to take the exam, can take QUT’s internal English proficiency test (Overseas Predictive Test). Please see next slides for more detail.
3. Academic transcript (English version, from FJU)
4. Photocopy of students’ passports
5. Award certificates, if any

Overseas Predictive Test
For students who have never taken an IELTS or TOFEL exam in the
past and do not wish to take the exam, can take QUT’s internal
English proficiency test (Overseas Predictive Test).
• Important things for students to note
– They cannot sit our OPT if they have already sat an IELTS (or
equivalent).
– They can only sit our OPT ONCE and they will not have a
second attempt at the test.
– Our OPT WILL NOT get them direct entry into the BCI. It is
only for students coming to do ELICOS + BCI so they will
receive a package offer from
– Test result will be sent directly to Admission and reflect on
their packaged offers
• This test is consist of grammar (30 min), reading (40 min) and
writing (60 min)

Step 4: Submit a “good application”
Identify that student is genuine and has financial capacity to fund their studies and living costs. • Complete all fields on the F form including Student Declaration
• Clearly indicate preferred major (where applicable) and intake
• Use the Application Progress Check List
• Scan all documents

─ In the order of
1. F Form
2. Photocopy of passport
3. IELTS or TOFEL result
4. Academic transcript
5. Awards certificates (if any)

Step 5: Offer Letter and Acceptance
• It will take 10 ~ 15 working days for Admission to review students applications
– If any detail missing, it will take longer
• When students receive an offer from Admission, please –
– Make sure all details are correct
– Activate QUT access and email account
• Students’ QUT login and passwords are included in offer letter
• More detail check: http://www.itservices.qut.edu.au/student/email/
– Send the following to the QUT address listed on your Acceptance of Offer letter:
• Acceptance of Offer form - fully completed and signed by student
• Your first fee payment (the amount on your offer letter)
– Pay via QUTPay (a Traditional Chinese step by step instruction is included in your USB) or find it on Agent Portal
• Any outstanding documentation required to meet the conditions of your offer

OSHC
‐ QUT offer letters quote OSHC for the QUT course as a single rate and is calculated to: • start 2 weeks prior to the start of classes
• ends according to DIAC visa rules ie the last semester at QUT and then to 15 March or 31 August
‐ QUT’s preferred provider is Medibank
‐ Students organising their own OSHC should indicate this on the QUT Acceptance of Offer form, and they will be required to show OSHC evidence as part of their visa application

Step 6: QUT will Confirm Your Acceptance
QUT will send to students:
• Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment form (eCOE) for student visa application.
• Information on accommodation, airport reception and orientation.

Visa Refusals • Send details to the relevant QUT team email advising
of the refusal
• Students will need to complete and submit an IR form attach a copy of the visa refusal letter and send to the relevant QUT team email

Step 8: Predeparture Orientation
• QUT is able to conductt a predeparture seminar after students obtain their visas
• The seminar will include the following information
– Study at QUT
– Living in Brisbane
– Transportation
– Accommodation
– International Student Services
