Quick Reference Guide: Understanding Your Payslip Your payslip is a valuable resource that lets you see information about your pay, tax withholdings, 403(b), voluntary deductions, sick and vacation balances, and more. The payslip has recently been enhanced and now provides details about Creighton’s contributions towards your insurance coverage and 403(b). This quick ref- erence guide details the changes you can expect to see on your payslip and explains what the changes mean. If you have questions, please contact Human Resources at [email protected]. The top section details basic employee, employment, and payroll information. This section shows the pay period start date, end date, and pay date. The summary section displays total earn- ings and deductions for the current pay period and year-to-date. Details for these sections are listed below. Gross earnings includes all wage payments plus any imputed (non-cash) earnings such as the taxable value of life insurance premiums paid by Creighton University. The earnings sections gives a breakdown of all earnings earned by the employee. Any applicable imputed earnings are noted as non-cash. A breakdown of actual hours worked by payment type. For monthly employees, the hours listed will be the total available hours for the month as monthly employees are exempt and not paid by the hour. Quick Reference Guide: Understanding Your Payslip

Your payslip is a valuable resource that lets you see information about your pay, tax withholdings, 403(b), voluntary deductions, sick and vacation balances, and more. The payslip has recently been enhanced and now provides details about Creighton’s contributions towards your insurance coverage and 403(b). This quick ref-erence guide details the changes you can expect to see on your payslip and explains what the changes mean. If you have questions, please contact Human Resources at [email protected].

The top section details basic employee,

employment, and payroll information.

This section shows the pay period start

date, end date, and pay date.

The summary section displays total earn-

ings and deductions for the current pay

period and year-to-date. Details for these

sections are listed below.

Gross earnings includes all wage payments plus

any imputed (non-cash) earnings such as the

taxable value of life insurance premiums paid by

Creighton University.

The earnings sections gives a breakdown of

all earnings earned by the employee. Any

applicable imputed earnings are noted as

non-cash.

A breakdown of actual hours worked by

payment type. For monthly employees, the

hours listed will be the total available

hours for the month as monthly employees

Lists any employer contributions for

Creighton employer-paid benefits for

eligible employees, which may include

amounts for:

• 403(b) Employer Match

• 403(b) QNEC

• Medical Insurance Premiums

• Dental Insurance Premiums

• Vision Insurance Premiums

This section details the deductions for

required taxes on your paycheck. Withhold-

ing rates for federal and state taxes vary for

employees according to selections made on

the federal and state W4 forms.

This section details after-tax deductions on

your paycheck.

In this section you can find current accrued

balances for your sick, vacation, and volun-

teer hours.

This section displays direct deposit infor-

mation for your paycheck.

The last section details your income tax

withholding status for federal and state. You

can change your exemptions or have addi-

tional money withhold by completing a new

federal and/or state W4.

How to View Your Payslip in myHR

1. Log into myHR. 2. Click on the ‘About Me’ tab. 3. Click on the ‘Pay’ icon. 4. Click on the ‘My Payslips’ box.

5. Select a payslip to view. The selected payslip will display. You can download as a pdf for your records.

How to Update Your W4 in myHR

1. Log into myHR. 2. Click the ‘Pay’ icon. 3. Click on the ‘Tax Withholding’ box. 4. Click the ‘Edit’ button (pencil icon) for

the tax withholding you wish to change. 5. Update the form as needed and check

the ‘I Agree’ box and click ‘Save’.
