Although there are many different distribution companies for all different genres of film, we have decided that the company Hammer is the most likely to distribute our film. Hammer is one of the most well known film institutions in the UK and has produced over 150 feature films since 1934. Hammer is very well known for a lot of films in the horror genre such as ‘Woman In Black’ ‘Let me in’ and ‘The Curse of Frankenstein’. We were influenced a lot by the film ‘Woman in black’ and used some of the conventions from this film such as the use of child actors, fear Hammer is the parent company of Spitfire pictures, an award winning Production Company and Exclusive films international, a distribution company. This is called vertical integration. This means that all areas of production and distribution are covered under this one company, saving time, money and making the whole process easier. Another reason we need a big budget for our film is because we would like special effects and other features that are very expensive and we would not be able to do them without it. Due to hammer owning a distribution company this means that our film would also be marketed by the same company, once again saving time, money and

Although there are many different distribution companies for all different genres of film, we have decided that the company Hammer is the most likely to distribute our film. Hammer is one of the most well known film institutions in the UK and has produced over 150 feature films since 1934.

Hammer is very well known for a lot of films in the horror genre such as ‘Woman In Black’ ‘Let me in’ and ‘The Curse of Frankenstein’. We were influenced a lot by the film ‘Woman in black’ and used some of the conventions from this film such as the use of child actors, fear of the unknown and lighting, so we feel confident that this distribution company is the right one for our film.

We chose this company because they have experience in distributing this specific genre of film and therefore
